Here is something that might help that i have tried. leave your normal bedroom lights on and lye on your bed doining nothing. When you feel sleepy, turn off the lights, put in some murine tears eyedrops and eventualy, you'll be sleepy.remember, don't do this like for a year. Just do it when your finding it hard.

If you have a laptop, set up a wireless network so she'll have internet access.
I'm 33 and I still can spend literally hours at a time if I'm not careful playing the old SuperNintendo RPGs like Final Fantasy or Zelda, or Chronotrigger. You can play them on your laptop with an emulator or buy the console and the games on eBay (the console is dirt cheap but some of the games are collectable and expensive). I recommend those. I'd get bored with Ms Pacman. :D

If you have been advised to be on bed rest, the doctor most likely has a very good reason, so there you should stay. As for being bored, you could watch movies, if you like using your mind to solve problems, shows like CSI are good. You could learn some card games or play video games, there are many games adults can enjoy as well. I hope at least one of these can be helpful to you. One of my friends was put on bed rest for six months with her fist child. I wish you the best of luck.

Sudoku is a fun game to take up time, it also sharpens your mental senses. Keep your spirits high with some comedies, maybe some old robin williams or possibly some austin powers movies. have something where you can physically move your arms also, while you may have to stay in bed you need to have movement throughout your body somewhat or you will get a sense of cabin fever (maybe find someone to play cards with, something that keeps a little motion going, and interaction with another will also help you with being able to stay in bed) Good luck.

Try getting a walkman and listening to books on tape. A cold cloth over the forehead and dim the lights should help.
Other things you can do while on bed rest are portable DVD player for short periods of time, or she could try small handcraft projects like cross stitching if she feels up for it.

i think she must not only be in bed rest, she must be taken to a place where there is calm & bliss weather like park for a while her mind will be little bit cool now & then she can take a rest or can read the books

I dont know how old she is but let her try playing video games. Maybe if she doesnt like them she will learn to like them, but something easy, not any of these hard games they got out today. Like ms pac man or something. They have those hand helds, that you can by for about 19 dollars and they have like 10 different games on it. It may not be the answer but it may help.

Reading is too sternous when not keeping well. you can make her do some drawing / painting, listening to music of her choice softly. She could also help in light daily chores like chopping vegs / fruits / salad everyday, that shall make her feel good and follow a routine.

Go in for some music. Soft songs and melodies will sooth the ear...

You're not supposed to read if you're getting bed rest.
