white liquor usually gives less of a hangover. also dark liquors have a tendency to bring out the kick-*** in people.

Many prefer dark rum compared to light rum because the dark
seems to have more of a flavor of it's own.

light liquor has less sugar and has been aged less time and dark beer has been aged longer. in tequilla i like dark, cause the longer it's been aged the better it tastes!!

You should only drink dark liquor with dark mixers and light with light.
But, I don't drink, anymore.

Vodka is the most versatile, but even it has it's limitations. Keep some of both on hand and you can't go wrong.
