My husband is catholic (and practicing - goes to church every week, reads the text daily, etc.) and I am more a new age person (believe in a universal energy and our own power to control our existence).

We met and were engaged within 2 weeks and moved in in another 6 - married about 3 months later privately and then had the big deal on the same day a year later. Been together now for 8 1/2 years.

We still very much believe in our own path and we have found a lot of common ground. He is the most enlightened Catholic I have ever met and we are able to come to agreement on how to raise the kids (allow them to choose their religion when the time comes, while tolerantly exposing them to our and other religions).

The church screwed us on our ceremonies (wedding and children ceremonies) which upsets his immediate family, but even his aunts (including a nun) and cousins can see the beauty in what is going on here. The world is getting ever smaller and what a great way to teach children tolerance by showing them in close quarters how people of other faiths respect each other.

Peace!

Just remember that you both have the same boss !!
So, do not use religion in arguments.
Most marriage's do not last any way so, I would not let a little detail like that hold back true love.
The fact that you are both religious might give you a little edge over any other marriage.

my mom and dad did and it worked out fine, they don't really practice it though, just my mom hangs the little scriptures thingy on the door whenever we move (you know the paper with loads of hebrew writing on it that comes in a glass container that you nail to your door- i think it's called a mazuzzah.)

my dad is catholic btw.

it's just a little awkward when we see my aunt and cousin for dinner or something and the little kid always has to pray to God and Jesus before he eats.

Yes, I did, and the resolution was to attend both services. As a result, I grew in my own faith while appreciating what another faith had to offer.
