I'm trying to install the software that came with a new digital camera. every time i get into the second part of instalation it says...The file c:/program Files/Nikon pictureproject/Jet40sp5-w2k doesnt match the file in the setups cabfile. The medium from which you are running the setup maybe corrupt; contact your software vendor. I ejected the disc and now the little window on the screen says...There is no disk in the drive but i cant get it to go away??? What does all that mean???

The CRC error means the program (installer) is corrupt. I would recommend downloading the software from the camera manufacturer's support website.

Here is the support site for your camera including downloads for software, drivers, manuals, etc...:

http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php?goingto=dtc_options&cat=1&grp=2&productNr=25534

Hopefully that will be all that you need. If that doesn't fix it, I would take the software CD back to the store and ask them to swap it with one from another package.

You can contact me through my Answers profile if you need some more help / suggestions.

Sounds like the CAB file didn't extract correctly.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. If the camera program doesn't have an uninstall option on the menu where it installed, go into Start / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it there.

good luck!
