Atheists are always saying we believe in the insane concept of God or Jesus Christ being gods. They say we have no proof, no logic, and are ignorant. How can they prove there is no god. How can they prove that all the matter in the universe was in a tiny pinpoint and exploded into the universe, or the "Big Bang". And also they all say that Christians try to force the faith on them. Christian try to witness to people not force it on them. I'll admit that Christians have had brutal methods and times in the past. But for some reason we have come beyond the Crusades (sorry Islam) and it was one party of German Christians in the Holocaust not all Christians just one polotical party.

Not all Atheists believe in the big bang nor do they say they have the answer.

I don't need to prove God doesn't exist to not believe any more than you need to prove that God exists to believe.

Show me he does and I might believe. Until then, I don't.

As a Christian, how do you know you are believing in the right God? Islam has a different God, other religions have different Gods. Who is to say they are right or wrong?

Throughout Human history man has been trying to find an answer, that answer has been forced upon many by other men. Those who didn't believe the same as those in power were killed, giving everyone else who didn't believe a very strong reason to believe. Keepers of the faith have long been the biggest breakers of that faith. If they all went to heaven, I'm sure I'll get there just the same, if it exists. If it doesn't then I guess those of faith wasted their time believing in something for nothing.

I still have morals and values. You might call them faith based, I call them society based. Both can be argued till we are blue in the face and neither one of us will convince the other that one of us is right and the other is wrong.

As a person that does not believe in God, if I start to believe will I be saved and be guaranteed an after-life in heaven? If so, what does it matter if I start believing from the start or believe at the last second or anywhere in between? If I choose Christianity and Allah is the true God, am I going to hell? If I choose Islam and Allah isn't the right God, do I go to hell? What if I choose the wrong faith of Christianity or Islam, or take up Judaism or some other faith am I still damned? If there is a God, and all is as it is told, as his child I will be loved no matter what.

I am not an Atheist, but I'm not a Christian either. I do believe that there is a God. I don't claim to be able to prove anything, nor should I think any religion can prove anything. Religion is based on faith. Nothing more. Sure you have the bible..but there's no 100% proof that it's all true. Same with every other religion. Anyway, it does seem that a whole lot of Christians like to tell non Christians that if they don't believe in Jesus, they are rotten, horrible people. I don't think that's fair. And some people just don't give up when they're told to leave someone alone. I just think in general, Christians have this all mighty perspective and think they're better than everyone. I thought Jesus loved everyone?

They might not be able to disprove a God but they can argue that the Bible isn't entirely true. For example, the Bible says that the Earth is only about 6000 years old give or take. So how are dinosaur bones here that are millions of years old? The Bible says there was the great Noah flood in about 2300 BC. So why do civilizations all over the globe have their own histories that stretch back further than 4300 years? Not to mention the few people (8 I think) on the Ark couldn't repopulate the world and create all the different races and peoples in just 4300 years with all their individual and unique backgrounds and ancestry. That's just a few discrepancies amongst many.

First of all, the burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim. If you claim the existence of something, it is up to you to prove it. You can't prove the existence of God, because it is based on faith not science.
The Big Bang, evolution and other theories are based on fact. While they are not totally complete, they are widely accepted by the scientific community and, for the most part, the general public. Relativity is a good example, it is another testable theory that is pretty much accepted as fact and no longer disputed. Gravity is also a only a theory. Just because some theories are not as developed as others, isn't reason to easily dismiss them because they don't fit into your world view. They are based on observation, experimentation and are in accord with the known laws of nature. For example, we know the speed at which light travels, if the Universe is 30 billion lightyears across, then it is reasonaable to assume that it is older than 6,000 years. We are also able to observe the formation of other solar systems and planets throughout our galaxy and determine how gas and matter interact to form planets. This also takes longer than 6,000 years.

Epicurus disproved the existence of the Christian God, as reported in the Bible, thousands of years ago. An all knowing, all loving, all powerful being cannot co-exist with evil in the world.

“The gods can either take away evil from the world and will not, or, being willing to do so cannot; or they neither can nor will, or lastly, they are able and willing. If they have the will to remove evil and cannot, then they are not omnipotent. If they can but will not, then they are not benevolent. If they are neither able nor willing, they are neither omnipotent nor benevolent..Lastly, if they are both able and willing to annihilate evil, why does it exist? ” -Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE).

An all powerful being cannot exist either. Could God make a rock so big he couldn't lift it? If he could then he is not all powerful and if he couldn't then he is not all powerful.

Arguments like these disprove the existence of God just to the extent that a square circle can't exist. The Bible could be wrong and the God of the Bible could exist is one way to go against these arguments, but the bottom line is that there is no verifiable evidence for anything supernatural at all. And if you believe in things without evidence then you are truly gullible and are open to every kind of scam there is.

It isn't even my place to disprove something anyways. It is the person making the claim that something exists that needs to provide evidence for it's existence and if they don't even define what they are talking about then it is impossible to disprove it. A generic god cannot be disproven. There is still no reasons to believe one exists anymore than reasons to believe that invisible blue turtles exist.

Atheism = Lack of theism or lack of god belief.
Atheists aren't people who say they can disprove the existence of god(s), just people who don't believe there are any....please tell this to your pastor,I am tired of clearing up this misconception from people.

A few things:

-Why would we try to prove that there is no god? The burden of proof falls on one making a positive assertion (that would be you). A better question is, "How can you prove that there are not giant, invisible pink unicorns floating around Pluto?" Also, scientific concepts and simple logical arguments completely erase the necessity for any sort of divine being.

-The big bang theory is a well-documented, well-researched scientific concept which has undergone years of study and experimentation and observation.

-Trying to pass government legislation which applies to everybody and supports Christians ideas could very well be considered "forcing beliefs onto others."

Edit: I'd also like to point out that "me's" answer made absolutely no sense whatsoever, and did not follow a logical succession of ideas.

But at least it's more intelligent and adult than childish and baseless insults such as "atheists are immature retards."

Edit (to carson123):

-You seem to be mistaken about what an atheist is. Now, you seem to have gotten the definition of agnosticism right: it is one who professes a lack of knowledge about the existence of a god. Atheism, however, is a professed lack of belief, generally brought about by lack of evidence or inconsistencies in religion. Now, it is true that an atheist cannot say for absolute sure that there is no god, but then again, I have never heard an atheist make such a claim, and besides, we can supply logical and scientific evidence which supports the nonexistence of a creator. And besides that, since when does one need to have proof that something does not exist? Do you have proof that unicorns do not exist? If you do not, shouldn't you remain agnostic on the idea of the existence of unicorns? Also, if you have ever made the absolute claim that there is a god, you are violating your own logic.

-And for your comments on evolution:

-In your opening sentence you have already made two ignorant claims: 1. No scientific theory is ever "proven." As a scientist friend of mine used to say, "proofs are for mathematics and alcohol." 2. You state that evolution details the "origins of the universe without a creator," when evolution has absolutely nothing to do with the origins of the universe.

-An enormous amount of transition fossils have been discovered over the course of many decades, and if you kept up on your scientific research and read peer-reviewed scientific journals, you would know this. You also seem to be ignoring the fossil record, where the fossils of thousands of species are shown gradually changing over the hundreds of millions of years which we know that evolution must take. There is no "interpretation" involved with the fossil record.

-Evolution occurs everday: everytime a grasshopper adapts to a new type of pesticide, or some type of bacteria adapts to a new antibody, evolution, or "survival of the fittest" is occuring. And your point about men and apes is not valid, because nobody who has done even the smallest amount of research on evolution would claim that man "came from monkeys." Humans and modern apes evolved from a common acestor; they evolved seperately.

-How does it take more faith to adhere to the theory of evolution? Whether you like it or not, evolution is supported by an enormous amount of evidence (transition fossils, the fossil record, genetics, the observed adaptation of species resulting from environmental changes, etc) whereas there is no evidence supporting your god, and thus such a concept can be taken on nothing but faith.

-Which scientists think this way? Do you have evidence that there are such scientists who adhere to creationism? Why would a scientist support an idea for which there is no evidence?

-And none of your next points are supported by evidence. They are supported merely by what you believe in faith, and are thus not worth trying to debunk.

Here are some sources which provide evidence supporting the points I have made:

If you have any other questions about the theory of evolution, you can most likely answer them by using this site:

You are really lying when you say Christians don't try to force their faith upon anyone. I just saw a question yesterday from a tyrant who tries to deny the First Amendment, and I've seen many letters from such people in various newspapers and magazines. Several imbeciles say non-Christians should leave the country. One retard said atheists should be killed. Do you want God on all our money and in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Ten Commandments in government buildings? That is forcing your beliefs upon us all. I can show dozens of contradictions and scientific inaccuracies in the Bible. I began to doubt it at age 7 or 8. Mom's father was a Baptist pastor. He had a book that said the creation was in 4004 BC. I was fascinated by dinosaurs. My books about them said Earth is 4,700,000,000 years old. I could see the dinosaur books had much evidence for their figure, while the figure derived from the Bible was childishly naive. A bright kid can see things that adults who blind themselves cannot. If some people were more knowledgeable about science, they'd see religion is nonsense. Some people are too dumb to understand such things as science, so they can only blindly believe naive myths. There is much evidence to support the Big Bang, but the two different accounts of creation in Genesis are so naive that I couldn't believe them when I was age 7 or 8. There is no evidence for anything about God and the Bible and much evidence agaist them. That is disproving them in my book. My oldest sister is an imbecile. She insults me outrageously if I say anything that questions her naive brand of Christianity, and she tells me to go to church. When one learns more, he moves beyond such childish beliefs as those in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and gods, e.g. Yahweh, Brahma, Tien Ti, Odin, Zeus, Marduk, Ahuramazda, etc, etc. Do you believe in Brahma, Tien Ti, Odin, Zeus, etc.? Can you prove they don't exist? I have adequate proof that no gods exist. Your Yahweh, the god of Moses, is no better than the others.

Coming from an atheist myself..............And I'm going to apologize in advance if i say anything that might insult someone even though i really don't care if i do............We don't say you cant prove it we just don't believe the **** Pardon my language....everybody is entitled to their own beliefs what we choose to believe and not are of your own mind's...We deny the existence because their is no solid evidence...For all we know the bible is just a book written by some crazy guy who was bored....If you were to look up the definition of an atheist in the dictionary this would be what you would find.....—Synonyms Atheist, agnostic, infidel, skeptic refer to persons not inclined toward religious belief or a particular form of religious belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings. An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from commitment to any religious doctrine. Infidel means an unbeliever, especially a nonbeliever in Islam or Christianity. A skeptic doubts and is critical of all accepted doctrines and creeds.

If you have any questions as to why we feel this way don't hesitate to ask..I'm always up for a good open debate on this topic!

"How can they prove there is no god."

Are you assuming that all atheists deny every gods' existence? Many atheists just don't believe in god(s), they don't necessarily deny them. For atheists that do deny any gods' existence, sometimes a negative can be proven.

"How can they prove that all the matter in the universe was in a tiny pinpoint and exploded into the universe, or the "Big Bang"."

The same way any scientific theory is proven true. That's beside the point though, most people don't claim with absolute certainty that the big bang is true. They believe the big bang is very likely to be true based on mounds of evidence. Theists claim all sorts of ridiculous things to be 100% true with absolutely no evidence to back up those claims.

Also, not all atheists believe in the big bang theory and many theists do.

well scientists have seen something in space that they believe was the big bang (because of the distance from its origin or something like that-don't really understand the physics of it).

Christians and Atheists are kind of equal in this way. Christians can't prove that God exists, and Atheists can't prove that He doesn't.
