Boeing built a total of 744 B-52s, in eight different production versions, at Boeing facilities in Seattle and Wichita, Kansas. Of these, only the H model remains in service today. The last B-52H - tail number 61-040 -- rolled off the Wichita assembly line on June 22, 1962.
So while in service, None have been produced since the Beach Boys were still boys!

Down but not out!!! No longer producing complete aircraft but can't find a replacement which does the job as well as the 52. Going to be remembered for an in-service record similar to the C-47.

No, not in production...Many are in the Graveyard and stripped for spare parts for what's left in the fleet. I would not call the plane "obsolete" as in another post. What keeps the BUFF alive is the weapons development programs and that nothing else in the bomber fleet can carry the tonnage of ordnance. I am not sure how much life is left, but I believe that it will still be on active service til 2015.

It is certainly unbelieveable, but those haven't been produced in about a half-century. The only aircraft flying for the military are B-52H aircraft. All the others (for the military) have been destroyed as part of a bilateral agreement with Russia.

No, it hasn't been produced since the 1960s.
It is an obsolete bomber that can only be used when total air superiority has been achieved.
Combat losses were heavy over Vietnam (15 losses and 9 damaged in 792 sorties).

The last one went out of production over 50 years ago. They were replaced with the B1 and B2.
