Kidney patients must be cautious with any nutrient excreted or controlled by the kidneys; Potassium and magnesium in particular come to mind.

Some can be if they are in high concentration. I know someone who drank some well water with a lot of minerals in it and it really messed up their kidneys. I think the mineral was copper, but others affect them too, I'm not sure which ones though.
