I have a son going into the K4 program. I have heard that around this age, they teach cursive. Is it true that no printing is taught, it's just cursive? If so, what is the reasoning behind that? Is there research that has found that it is beneficial and age appropriate? I'm just curious.

I would hope to believe that anyone who puts together a program for pre K children has used material geared for their abilities at that age.

Aloha wahini. I live in PA and my grand daughter is in first grade and they are still printing. They teach printing in head start here.
