It seems to me that the best relationships, the ones that last, are frequently the ones rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than the night before, like a switch has been flicked somewhere, and the person who was just a friend is suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.

Yes....it makes the best relationships b/c you get to know the "real" them....the personality in the end is what seals the deal...

I disagree. Being friends is a good part of relationships, but not friends turning into a relationship. I've found that those ones don't work out well, especially in the end (there is always an end these days). Not only do you lose the relationship you had so much faith in, but in most cases you lose the friend that it started with.

Fully agree. If you start as friends, you are getting to know the "real" person first - not that fake one we try to be when we're first dating someone (fake conversation, heavy makeup, fake interest in things, etc.). As friends, you can get to know each other and over time, you realize that person has become your best friend and you can't live without him/her. Your mate should always be your best friend.

I would have to agree....A platonic friendship provides a solid foundation for future romance...so keep an open mind even about friends that you'd never think about in "that way"...Never say never!
