When you go to heaven, do you lose all memory? Would you still remember your parents and other loved ones? (I wouldn't be happy in a place without my family and friends.)

Sorry my mom read me the Bible when I was younger but I forgot a lot of it.

The Bible implies, based on an overview of Revelation 21 verses 1 - 5, that our memories remain intact until after creation of the new heaven and new earth, at which time all remaining forms and evidence of the former corruption will be wiped away.

As to where people end up, that is based solely on their individual relationships with the Lord. It is important to understand that if you place your family above the Lord, THEM not being in heaven should not be your first concern!

Next, Christianity is the faith on which many religious institutions are founded, including Catholicism, the Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Greek Orthodox, the Mennonites, Quakers, and others. Membership in an organization has no effect one way or another on someone's Christianity, it IS between them and the Lord personally.

And finally, to my Catholic brothers and sisters, the Catholic Church IS NOT the first 'Christian Church'. The first Christian church was a synagogue of Messianic Jews. The first church CALLED 'Christian' was in Antioch some 15 years later. The Catholic church originated in Rome almost 100 years after that. It IS the oldest Christian based institution, but as I said before, it's not about where you go, it's Who you know!

Well, as a Roman Catholic of almost 55 years, and having read and copied the Bible, I can tell you that I cannot remember any passage in it, even in our "Another Gospel" as whynotaskdon seems to imagine, that tells us we'll remember our family members or friends as we do down here on earth. I can tell you that JazzyPoo's answer is really good, as is whataboutme's, and judy_r8's answer is EXCELLENT. And jaded's got a great answer. I point all this out to you because it's easier to see the right answer when it's there than to formulate all those thoughts in some kind of intelligent, organized delivery, so I hoped you'd review what they said as a way of helping me answer you the best way I can. God Bless you.

Well first off dont ever assume under what circumstances you would or would not be happy. We as humans arent even capable of doing that in this life much less the next.

We will indeed have memories because at the Judgment we are goig to review our lives before God!

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. -2 Corinthians 5:10

There is a selective memory. You will remember nothing that will make you sad. Only the happy memories. If you are in Heaven with your family you will know them and will have a joyous reunion.

I am a Catholic Christian and we believe we will meet our loved ones in heaven and recognize them. The love of God will transcend all love that we had for others which will insure our happiness even if someone we loved is not there.

i've heard that u will remember the people u love and know. if being with loved ones in heaven will u happy, then they will be there with you coz the bible says u will be happy in paradise and achieve ur desires. one time a guy asked, will there be golf in heaven and he was told, 'if it's golf that makes u happy, then ofcourse there'll be golf!' but i don't think u'll remember the people who are not in heaven with you coz u'll be sad and wondering 'where are they all?' and know that they're being punished. so u will remember but not everyone u knew in heaven

I believe that those we love who don't make it to Heaven, we won't know it because that would make us sad and since there will not be any saddness in Paradise/Heaven God will make it so we are only aware of the ones who are with us.

Does that make sense? You will not feel sadness, pain, misery or emptiness in Heaven. Only love and happiness.

First, all the prophets have been 'hassle-free' people such as you and me. besides, Paul replaced into chosen with the help of God and he replaced right into a terrible individual who had Christians killed for what they believed, and yet you carry on his each be conscious (you study it for all time on your bible and quote it). Peter replaced right into a tax collector, and yet he replaced into appointed the chief, having great faith in Jesus. 2nd, you call for unity, and yet you're separated from all different Christians calling your self 'non-denominational'. in case you learn Christian history, you will see that interior the early centuries there replaced into deferring ideals yet purely one Church. That Church (be careful in case you disagree considering which you call Jesus a liar in case you do) continues to be in life to this present day. in certainty, there heavily isn't unity, and we've been advised this: "yet I actual have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed i'm till it rather is finished! Do you think of I got here to deliver peace on earth? No, I inform you, yet branch. any further there will be 5 in one kin divided against one yet another, 3 against 2 and 2 against 3. they are going to be divided, father against son and son against father, mom against daughter and daughter against mom, companion's mom against daughter-in-regulation and daughter-in-regulation against companion's mom." Luke 12:50-fifty 5 Calling for unity into some thing that may not the certainty (what replaced into given to us with the help of the Christ) is precisely what the Anti-Christ will do. he will additionally look for to injury the church, and you and the various others accessible like your self would be happy to persist with alongside with him (if he arrives throughout it sluggish).

No. You will still remember your loved ones. They will be waiting for you in the Gates of Heaven. Why would they wait for you in front of the Gate of Heaven if they don't know you? If they know you, they still remember you. If they still remember you, you will still remember them.

God made you, he knew you before you were even conceived, and he loves you. It's unlikely he would wipe away that part of you.

Why not just relax and leave everything up to God? He won't disappoint you.
