Since this is what this world and society has come to, don't you think maybe we actually may need a little guidance? Even if you're not of a particular religion, do you have enough spirituality within yoursef to pray over situations like this?
Do you think lack of prayer and lack of belief in a higher being has something to do with the tragedies in society today?
I'll tell you honestly yahoo friends, this is the kind of thing that makes me sick at my stomach. My heart aches for this world and the people in it. This is only one story. This is only one story that has been brought into the public. This kind of thing goes on all day every day, and much worse. We have people killing people for $172.13 in a cash drawer of a convenience store, and someone has to bury thier loved one. All to pay for an addiction, to fill a void. What is that "void"?
I'm open to suggestion here from every age, gender, and religion.
Everyone.

As far as reading the story, it didn't come up. But, I will try to answer some of your questions anyway.
I believe that in some way everyone believes in a higher power, and there are many names for that power (i.e., God, Ala), whatever it may be. I don't think the lack prayer really has anything to do with the tragedies, ignorance is more like it. People don't think before they do these days, look at the emissions from the big oil/gas corporations, automotive companies and what these emissions have done to the atmosphere.
Everyone is in a fast pace world, instead of taking time to smell the roses. If we would all just sit back and relax some, take care of a little piece of earth and get back to nature things would be different.
As for the robbing and killing someone for whatever is in the cash drawer, it is a type of ignorance. I work in a prison and I hear all kinds of stories as to why a person as done something or making excuses for why they did something. A lot of them won't even admit that they did wrong or they blame it on how they were raised or even blame it on society and to me that is cop out. Take full responsibility for what you did and change things for yourself.
It would also help if we had leaders that wanted to lead us in a peaceful manner, instead of leading us to war.

If prayer solved the ills of society and individuals they would have been solved 8000 years ago. When I returned from overseas to Ft. Lewis it was to read of a laundry room attendant being murdered for 24 dollars in quarters and a bait and tackle shop owner murdered because two kids wanted to skip school and go fishing that afternoon, which they did after killing the old man that owned the shop and picking out the poles they wanted.

Instead of prayer, we need to do everything in our power to connect with those around us so they feel a part of the community instead of seperate and isolated in a way that facilitates their harming others without emotion or afterthought. Pray if you like, but do something in the real world. these situation don't require miracles so much as they require effort and elbow grease from people who want to be the social glue of their comunities.

I'm sorry the world has to be this way. but we need to be care full not to blame God or other Christians for these problems.Read Ecc. chap.8 v.9 "There is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt."Go to V.11 "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil."
I pray for peace and for God to return soon. I hope others will also. The power of prayer is the strongest force in the world.
God bless you. Tim D.

The URL don't work, but I kinda get the gist, it's sad that people does things like that. It really makes me sick. Honestly, I do believe if more people believed and prayed there would be less of these types of tragedies.

All of my existence, I even have deliberate to deliver mutually a finished religious library. With digitization, this dream is realizable via every person. I do not hate religion, but I only see it as a crutch. Something for someone to lean on when everything is about to cave in on them. I do believe in the idea of spirituality. I believe spiritualty is seeing and being what is true to you without labels or anything that slows you down on your quest of life. And on the killing, I may sound crazy but, death is a natural part of life, be it murder or suicide.Chaos is needed for oreder to work.

Sorry, the page cannot be found, Fox News has removed it. I can understand where you are coming from and that is why I believe we are in the end times now. People need God more now than in any time in our history. Individually we are all running out of time and should be getting are lives in line with the will of God.

Sorry. attempted to view your story, but it says page is no longer available? True enuf, this world is very sickly & is in dire need of a physician! Sin is becoming more & more prevelent every day & will continue to grow worse as God, His Holy Word & His Holy Spirit are removed from humanities cares & concerns. Today, even TRUTH is concidered "relevant" depending upon whom your talking to, with or about. There is only ONE cure: Jesus Christ!
We who love Him await His "cure" ...and He promised to bring it....therefore we wait...knowing God cannot lie!

the void is filled by Jesus. We are all sinners, and we all look for something to fill that void. I feel so much happier when i talk to God and when i feel close to him. I pray everynight, and i feel God's presence in my life. When you trust God, you feel better. Because society is so violent, we must look to God for guidance, because he will lead us away from temptation.
