I tried installing SP2 but it the installation stops and says I don't have a genuine product key or something. I realise my copy is not genuine because I had the installation cd copied from a friend. Is there any way I can get pass this? Is there any cracks or something I can download to help me with this?

You could try using nLite or other slipstreaming software to create a Windows XP CD with SP 2 slipstreamed in. Not sure if it would work with your CD. Worth a shot. http://www.download.com/nLite/3000-2094_4-10515136.html

You'd have to format your drive to try the disk. Might have to use the one you have again if it doesn't work.

test page can't send a file that large by e-mail. Don't give him the points!!!

Use the SP2 for installation on multiple computers for slipstreaming. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a&DisplayLang=en

I don't know if they still offer it but I went on microsoft site when sp2 first came out and I was able to get the sp2 upgrade on cd for free no shipping or anything that would do it.

No. The only way that Microsoft is going to let you download it is to have a good copy. They have a link in the validation now that you can go buy a copy on-line with a credit card. You won't have to reinstall it or anything.
