addition: this has been the vatican's official stance for many decades. i believe the new pope only reaffirmed it to reassure people he is not trying to drag the catholic church back to the dark ages

Yes. It's the only logical solution.

The Catholic church is really neutral on evolution, in that it allows varying opinions on the subject.

The Catholic church has always maintained that God caused all things to be created out of nothing.

It refuses to speculate as to exactly by what process that was accomplished.

micro-evolution or macro-evolution?

no problem with micro-evolution.

macro-evolution ... an unproven and unproveable theory -- or a collection of many theories!!

Many things the Vatican is absolutely correct about. However, on this one, if what you say is accurate, then it would seem that God and the Vatican are "in conflict".

Evolution has been proven, whatever disagrees is therefor wrong and is an act of manipulation or ignorance. They didnt strike me as those who would admit evolution. But you cant say all people of the church are the same.(It just seems that way)

God created everything, but slight and minor evolution happens. Almost all Christians can agree with that.

The Vatican has often been wrong when it delved into areas outside catholic theology.

i believe that we were created my someone or something, however our physical apperance my have changed over the years. their is to much evidence to say that evolution doesn't occure but their is jsut as much evidence to prove that humans have not had a major change in tens of thousands of years.
