First talking to your parents first if they want to sponsor her to come as a tourist. Second ask them to contact the Immigration in U.S. and see the visa that she can come in because, right now the Immigration is strict and they are afraid more people to add lists since 12 millions undocumented took all kind of benefits from the American people. How long the tourist visa is allow in U.S? Then your parents can contact the U.S. embassy in India and find out the procedure about the time and duration that the embassy issues tourist visa. Then your grandma can file an application to the U.S. Embassy in India and get her passport ready. The tourist visa may not take long and she can visit you but, I have been told that Your parents should sponsor your grandma and promise them only temporary stay not permanent and let the embassy know that she is not going to stay here and collect welfare, food stamps and Health care.Your Parents also should buy the Tourist Insurance for her then everything is going good. It will be great for her if your parents foot her plane ticket.Good luck and hope everything goes well.

First your grandmother needs a U.S. visa, which is hard to get, by the way.. the U.S. consuls have to interview her and see that your grandmother is going to come back to India. She probably needs evidence of her importance in India.

After she gets a visa (hopefully), she can come on any airline, boat, truck she chooses.

U got to consult the US Embassy for Visa application for her. At youe side, you need to provide supporting documents such as letter of invitation, documents to prove your relationship and of course to be her guarantor financially while she is in US.

The US embassy official will advice her what they needs. Get your relative or friends to her her to run the documents.

Since, she is your granny, is easy for approval if all documents needed fullfilled.
