I think it's because men feel like they need to be the protectors. How would it look if something goes down while your out on a date and you leap into action. All the guy can do is watch.
Personally I think it would be great to date a female officer. We could play "Lucky Burglar"

I don't know any female cops, so it makes hard to date one. I think the main reason would be for me is that we probably don't frequent the same places. I don't think that it would be intimidating for me unless she arrests me on the date.

uh...yeah! that also leaves alot of open doors to the officer peering into his personal life or things he would have rather kept in the past....but you being a female are naturally nosy so you who probably do a records check. wouldnt you?

that's a trip that you asked that... my husband doesn't want me to try to become a cop....because i will have this authority that he doesn't have....
so to answer your question...it's because police officers have authority and men don't like that in a woman....i guess.
