I work in a urban area medical center and i see too many things, mostly bad. I want to know that if he does have a plan, what do innocent people have to do. from murders to DUI far too mny innocent people are getting hurt. And it's not only them but the families have to also suffer.

I wonder if a plan of any magnitude is worth such injustices. That soo many innocent people who had no business suffering do just that. Anyone who would allow this is not fair or just does not care. And as for forgiveness, the MAN has not right because he might have caused it. We can not have free will and give him divine say over everything. That would not speak to highly of him. That might mean that he is not loving or just for that matter.

For the record I am an atheist, yet I do hope that I am wrong about my beliefs. It would not be right for me to wish that I were right so that soo many people could be wrong. I hope that I might one day find him because I am looking, just need answers

for the record I do not blame GOD for anything, I only wish that he was there with me when I have to tell a person that they lost a loved one. And the reason is that many times there is no reason. The only bad thing they did was being in the wrong place in the wrong time. fair huh. It is mostly through compassion that I rant like this. I feel for the families.

And like I say something that gives many people hope can not be a bad thing. I really really hope I am wrong in my beliefs. And I ask but never get a response

The problem of evil doesn't disprove god. The problem of evil disproves an all-knowing, all-powerful and all-loving god. Like the god of the Bible. To make matters worse an all knowing god would create beings, knowing ahead of time that they are going to be eternally tortured and this has nothing to do with our freewill. Everyone who is in hell right now, god knew they would be there before they were born. Or he is not all knowing.

“The gods can either take away evil from the world and will not, or, being willing to do so cannot; or they neither can nor will, or lastly, they are able and willing. If they have the will to remove evil and cannot, then they are not omnipotent. If they can but will not, then they are not benevolent. If they are neither able nor willing, they are neither omnipotent nor benevolent..

Lastly, if they are both able and willing to annihilate evil, why does it exist? ” -Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE)

I dunno why you would hope for a god like this to exist. If this god exists it would be no different than being a doctor who could save the life of a patient and just standing there and watched them die.

I am an atheist too. Feel free to message me.

There is hope for you yet. You claim to be an atheist but you say you need God where you work so that in and of itself tends to contradict your claim of atheism. Sounds more to me like you're confused.

If you want to understand more about suffering of innocents look up the story of Job.

Let's look for another reason those "innocent people" could be suffering. First, who says they are innocent? How do you know that person who's car was just hit by the DUI driver wasn't on his way to buy a kilo of cocaine he or she intended to sell to kids? How do you know that person wasn't a pedophile or something? Just what gives you divine knowledge that they are truly "innocent". Maybe it was karma that got them.

Now you're questioning a God who gives us the freedome to choose. Would you rather have a God who forced you to do things - you know some religions and some Christian sects believe that is the case. It's called "predestination".

What would be the point of God creating a world where everyone could do nothing but what He decided? Where would the glory be in that? The source of the evil you see at your worplace is those who choose evil choices - though you seem to be trying to blame the God you claim you do not believe in.Perhaps you should either decide if the God you blame really exists or not first, then try and figure out why He allows us freedom of choice between right and wrong.

PS guess what. God, by definition, is everywhere. So He's already there. Accept him and maybe He will help ease your confusion and pain as well as helping you ease that of others.

You may have theistic goals but you still view the world as an unbeliever.

People are NOT innocent. All have sinned (Romans 3:23) and if they grow up, guess what, theyre gonna sin! We made the world this way by and through sin and its like a covenant with Satan that renews itself everyday!

This world is not all there is in the grand scheme of things. The reason you feel there is so much injustice is because you dont believe in Gods ultimate justice or the kind of life he is capable of creating for people in the afterlife. There is a whole other world out there wating for you and its not of this world! It starts in the Bible and in prayer.

You have chosen to work in the medical centre, and you have chosen to be part of the compassion and healing of the lives of the suffering people that you see every day. You have used your free will to be on the front line as a healer of broken lives.

God is already with you, he/she is always there, you don't have to reach him. He has already found you and you are right to feel that injustice is occurring in innocent lives, and you are right to point that out. God is everywhere at all times, not believing in a higher power does not nullify his/her existence.

Good that you asked this question.

God DOES NOT APPEAR to you nor does God come to you nor is he required to come to you. If you want X, you must do Y. I.e., You must come to God, You must first please and serve God. Then God gives you keywords which are the strairways through which you attain Him. If you use negative metaphors and think you can push God into doing what you want, God does not say anything. Thats why God is represented in the form of a stone idol. If you throw stones at it it will not hurt God. Only your stone will break and fall in His feet. On the other hand, if you please the stone idol with bananas, fruits, honey, milk and panchamirtham, then he does not start giving you benefits immediately. He notes it down in his balance book and he gives you back a receipt - what you gave him in the first place: that is prasadam. You cant say you gave more and you received little. It is there in your account and when the right time comes, God will handle all the puppetry for you to help you out in your time of need.

It all comes down to freewill. For free choice to operate, it's obvious that evil has to have the possibility of existing. If every time someone chooses to do evil, God is going to interfere, then there's no moral choice. If every time the gun is pointed, the turret points backwards, after a few times you get the message. If you do something wrong and get struck by lightning, then you're not "morally choosing," you just see it doesn't work. It simply becomes pragmatic not to do evil.

If the lives of the righteous were obviously perfect, that too would destroy the possibility of choice. Pragmatically, we'd figure it pays more to be righteous because look at the millions of bucks that come my way! That's not choice. That's not becoming God-like.

I asked for strength and
God gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom and
God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for prosperity and
God gave me brawn and brain to work.

I asked for courage and
God gave me dangers to overcome.

I asked for love and
God gave me troubled people to help...

My prayers were answered.

to reach Him you need to read His word. I would read Romans in the New Testament of the Bible to start. A Bible translated in easy to read form would be good because you don't have to figure out the "thees" and "thous".
Also look into the eyes and at the tiny hands of a newborn. View a sunset all alone with no one to bother the moment. Go to a quiet room with no TV or noise. "Be still and know that He is God". You are going to find God!!!
Bless you for being receptive to Him. "Seek and you WILL find". I am already happy for you.

You just need to look INSIDE yourself, and talk to God. And you HAVE to read His Word, the Bible, to get to know Him intimately.

You must remember that there is suffering and death in the world, because of our sins -- the very sins that Jesus Christ died for.

I can tell by the way you are speaking that God is working on your heart. He is knocking -- you just have to let Him in! It may not be EASY, but it's SIMPLE. Salvation is a FREE GIFT! It's there for the taking! And God wants you so much to choose Life, ETERNAL life with Him. Jesus takes all those doubts and burdens you are currently holding and takes it off your shoulders. He WANTS you to come to Him.

Sorry got a little long-winded, but I pray for you that you will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He is holding out His hand for you . . . just take it, and He will NEVER let it go.

Oh, you're definitely wrong, and either you're WAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over stressed, as I'm sure you'd like to claim, or you've been sniffiing too much of that ether or having too much fun with those "medicines". You want to know how to reach God. Just shut up and call out His Name, and then wait, and be ready. You may take a while to recognize Him or His Answer, but He'll be there. You just have to shut up and listen. God Bless you.
