Ours was several thousand dollars. Worth every penny. I've never slept so soundly. The only drawbacks are that if you sleep on other beds they might begin to feel funny.

Also, the firmness changes a bit in the winter.

Since there are no springs it also sucks if you try to jump up and down on it.

Still, it's the best bed I've ever owned.

Not everyone likes them, though. Some people find them too wierd. You should test them out for yourself. Most of them come with a 30 day guarantee. We got ours at the MattressFirm and that was their policy.

The TempurPedic mattress is like many personal items that people either seem to love or hate. Here's my take on it:

First off, if you buy the original authentic TempurPedic mattress, be prepared to spend a large chunk of change, almost double what you would spend on a good innerspring mattress. This is especially expensive if you get a King size! Costco and Sam's Club both carry a similar product in the club that you can take home and set up yourself. You can return them to the club, but I don't know how you would get it in your car! So if you do buy one, get it from a place where they bring it out and give you 30 days to try it out. Then they can take it away if you change your mind.

Second, the bed is an adjustment to sleep on. I tend to be somewhat warm all the time and the TP mattress really adds to that problem. It's nice in the winter, but in the summer you sometimes feel like you can't cool off. You will also find that all of the sheets you've got for your giant mattress are now too big for the TP mattress and slide around a bit. Just get some cheaper sheets and that problem is solved.

As far as sleeping great, it doesn't seem to be much better than any other bed I've slept on, but I know people who would sell a kidney to keep their TP bed. If you have serious back issues or pain then it might be worth a try or if you have a pile of cash under the current mattress that you can't figure out how to spend. But if you have a friend who has one and will let you come over and take a nap on it for an hour or two, I would suggest you take the "test drive" before you invest the cash.

Good luck and sweet dreams!

We just got my dad a mattress with a tempur Pedic Pad already built in to the top of it and he says its the best sleep he has ever had.......said it was like sleeping on air and he felt way more rested then he did with the old mattress they had.

They spent around 550 dollars on their mattress with the tempur Pedic pad built into the top and if you ask me its worth every penny to see my dad wake up refreshed and sleep well at night. His snoring has even lessened too.

I also tried it out when t hey got it and it felt very very comfortable........I might end up gettin myself one in the future. I think if you want this kind of mattress you should go for it.........you wont regret it. Only thing is every six months you will need to rotate the matress.....cause its a non flip mattress but will need that rotation so you dont get sink spots.

Good luck with your decision and God bless.

I don't have the mattress but they sent me a sample block of the foam. I don't think it would be firm enough for me. I would like to try it before I make a judgement. On the other hand, I have tried the sleep number bed from Select Comfort. They are great and cost about the same as a really good inner spring mattress depending on the size.

Last year when we were buying a new bed we thought about it. But a friend of ours who has one talked us out of it. He said they were not as good as advertised. And way over priced. So we went with a Posture Pedic Pillow Top instead.

It is really good. It costs a couple thousand dollars but I think it's worth it - at least that's what my shoulders and back are telling me. And it comes with a 20 year warranty so it's still a good investment for 20 years of good sleep!

I'm sure it's great, but I don't have that kind, so I can't give an accurate assessment of it. Here's a link to the mattress I have and I can honestly say it's the most comfortable mattress I've ever laid my head on (and the girls I've had over have told me the same)

I have a King and Queen TPM for 2 years now. It took me 5 months to get used to. It was like a ROCK. And still is but it does help with back pain for me. If you like firm then this is it. Would I buy it again? No because I prefer softer but that's not good for back pain. I am used to it now zZzzZSweet Dreams!

I dont think so, no disrespect to those that like it. I think they are hot... like, you kind of melt into them, and the heat seems to stay trapped. To me, its like sleeping on a thiknc blanket. Even with nice sheets, its still an oven. Its not as comfortable to roll around in either as a regular bed, or even a waterbed.- and in the night, if you are married or with significant other, its not a good bed. bot to mention, extraordinarilly expensive!

I don't have one but I've talked to people who do and they are not very impressed. They said that it kind of became squished after a while. Save your money and just get a regular mattress. If it was that great everyone would have one....y'know, like a microwave.
