I crossed that line around age 30... while I do sound like them at times, I know for a fact that I'm three times as open minded, less racist, less conservative and orders of magnitude more educated on how to raise my own kids without anger or emotional abuse.
The proof is in how they've turned out - 3 gifted students who are all in honors programs in school and are well adjusted enough to openly discuss any topic with intelligence and humor, even sex and dating.

At some point in my life, there was a transformation. At some point, apparently while I slept, SOMEBODY grafted my Dad's finger on the end of my hand. THEN, possibly the same person, inserted my Dad's words into my head. NEXT I found myself wearing shorts with black socks. Whoever he/she is, I sure hope they stop BEFORE I wind up with Dad's prostate!

Me! I think eventually we all do that because it's what we "learned". And though we swear we'll never do that, we "grow up & grow wise" and actually "agree" with what our parents told us that we couldn't possibly understand when we were young.
There's a saying that says "OLD AGE AND TREACHERY WILL OVERCOME YOUTH AND SKILL" ..... sooo true! Too bad our kids can't absorb our wisdom when they're young!
..... and the beat goes on.

OMG me! It's really kind of funny because one day my daughter said Mom you look just like Grandma. In many ways that's a compliment.
