We made a cool cake for my best friend, it was shaped like a mountain, then we got a cheap 4x4 truck from the toy store, and some little fake plastic trees and other miniature stuff, and made a cake that looked like a mountain or hill with the 4x4 coming down it on a road with plastic elk in the back of the pickup. Its nice because you can mess up the cake, it doesn't matter how it looks, it's a mountain/hillside.

Hunting theme, that's a new one on me. I'll do my best, but I can't guarantee it will be a great answer :-)

Found this site:

I would go with a dark green tablecloth, lighter green tulle or ribbon accent. The cake could be another shade of green, with deer or something done in icing or maybe some small plastic figures from the toy department. Then set up a forest scene around the table. Trees, animals, etc... Add some little army men that are holding up their guns, and maybe even some little plastic dogs that look like a hunting dog (lab or retriever). Fall colored leaves (fake of course) sprinkled around would be cute too.

I would definitely go with a fun look over trying to make this formal. I can't see hunting as a formal theme, so don't try to turn it into one. The table should get some smiles and laughs, after all it's the grooms table and cake. It's not usually the fancy one, that's reserved for the brides.

This seems a little odd to me. I am a professional Wedding Cake Decorator, Floral Maker and Coordinator. I would suggest Doing the traditional wedding party table at the reception, A wedding cake for the cake table and a groom's cake/bride's cake for the individual tables. Suggestions would be to have a rifle cake with toy gun shell casings, toy binoculars and some camouflage confetti (all which is safe for the little tykes at the reception) or if no children are allowed you could use real empty gun shell casings.
