I prefer Tennessee:
-Better job market
-Better scenery
-Smoky Mountains are awe-inspiring
-Nashville and Memphis are great cities that have preserved their historic districts and music heritage
-Clarksville has a nice quaint downtown
-Vanderbilt, Univ. of Tennessee, Belmont, and Rhodes are among the best schools in the country
-Population projected to grow 30% over the next 30 years b/c of its job-friendly market climate
-No state income tax (ties in w/ last point)
-Still hasn't lost its Southern hospitality, especially in the small towns
-MUCH better class of people and less pretentious than Kentucky; people hold doors open for you, and say "thank you" when you hold a door open for them. Some of the best service I've ever had in the service industry has been in Tennessee; Kentucky retailers tend to be less polite and more snooty.

As the commercial goes, Tennessee is the "All-American Getaway." Apparently it's becoming more than that.

i'm also a community to Louisville, Kentucky and that i love it the following. convinced I trust various women do not say thanks, yet I continuously do. convinced the ecomony sucks today, yet optimistically it receives more desirable proper quickly. i attempt to be pleasant to each body I met and verify out to make new people experience like they are not outsiders. eastern KY's economy is the worst contained in the state, they do no longer have massive factorys or tons of different places to artwork, so convinced they're going to have a huge welfare concern. no longer each body is comprehensive jerks the following in Kentucky, i recognize residing the following and could no longer stay everywhere else. Kentucky is an attractive state.

Since I have lived in both, I can tell you that there really isn't any real difference. There are both sophistocated people and hicks in both of them. There are polite and impolite people in both. There are great towns (big and small) and horrible towns (big and small) in both. Kentucky has Mammoth Cave which is just as "awe-inspiring" as the Smokies.

Both have great universities (depends on what you want to study).
Kentucky has less truck traffic than Tennessee and that is probably the only real difference -- semi's on I-40 bumper to bumper across the state is worse than on I-64 or I-75 through Kentucky.

why must you generalize? i have manners, i am from kentucky-by birth. i dont get on your case for being from tennessee do i? no, i dont. and you must have been going to the wrong stores and meeting the wrong people. or maybe...the problem could have been you!!!!! *GASP* how could that happen? after all, you are on here bashing people from kentucky. AND BY THE WAY, FOR THOSE WHO THINK WE ARE ALL HILLBILLIES THAT DONT WEAR SHOES, YOU ARE SOOO WRONG!!!! im not going into it any farther, but i will say this, dont generalize people because of where they are from, their race, their religion-or ANYTHING else. its not looking good on yourself. blessed be.
