I'm sorry I don't have any creative ideas for you, I just wanted to say that normally the joy of having a good guy to go to the dance with would be enough for most girls. Now, if you're looking for something quirky (like it sounds like you are) to do when you ask her out, those kinds of things are done best if you think up something that is inspired by something unique about her.

You're probably going to freak her out a little if you give her flowers when you're asking her out...what if she says no? Then she'll feel bad because you have bought flowers, and you've wasted some $$$ (well, okay, IMHO nobody's ever wasted money on chrysanthemums, but that's a whole different topic). And a phone call is too easy, too impersonal.
Here's what I'd do:
Walk up and say: '[Her name], I want you' with hungry eyes and emphatic lips. And a tinge of humor. Pause. Just before she's over her shock/amazement at your forwardness, look down, clasp your hands behind your back, twist your shoe in that faux shy way and finish with 'to go to the dance with me...if you'd like. I think you're beautiful and there's nobody else I'd rather go with.'
The emphatic lips are very important, my friend. Go! Go!

is toight a new word ? Ring her door bell . and when she answers say . hey do you want to go the dance with me. and smile real big. like the Cheshire cat. Don't ask her when shes with her friends . girl groups are tough for any guy . get her alone , then ask. you want cute . give her a lolly pop,or whatever it is that she might like.

Have you thought about a humorous greeting card? Not something cheesy, but up beat and funny.
Get the funny card, and below it, write something like:
'May I have the honor of escorting you to the dance tonight?'
And do so in your best penmanship.
Give it to her parents and ask them to give it to her, you could wait outside for your answer. Put 'Go to your window and wave if your anser is yes.'
Or something along those lines, you get the idea.
Or you could hire a singing telegram, get someone from theatre class, who can memorize a line and not lose composure.

im assuming you go to school with this girl since its a dance. have you tried asking her in person?
dont use the phone, or email, or IM to ask her. thats jsut plain stupid. and dont use a note or a friend either. that makes you look chicken.
so ask her in person. to her face. look in her eyes while asking. smile. make sure you smell good and clean. make sure you look clean. ask her when youre both alone (none of your friends or her friends around). A flower would be nice (like 1 rose or a carnation or something). dont beat around the bush. whatever you do, do not ask if shes going with someone then say "a girl like you dateless?" because it makes her think theres something wrong with her.
hope that helps a lil.

You could ask her..."hey, can you teach me how to dance slow? " Bring some music you and she like. She'll say "sure" and give you a few steps. Then you say, "you know what? we make a great couple! Why don't we go to the school dance together and practice some more?"....now THAT is sweet! Godloveya!

Ok...
1: Try to get her while she has her friends around.
2: Walk up to her...don't even glance at her friends.
3: Step on her left foot (lightly!) and keep it there.
4: Be direct...look her in the eyes...show no fear.
5: Ask her (keep it brief) "Will you go to the dance with me?"
6: She'll answer and / or ask why you're stepping on her foot.
7: Say, "So you can't run away...".
Trust me, as stoopid as it sounds...IT WORKS.

Write a love song and present it comically. The thoughtful/creative is there, and so is the comedy. She will probably laugh at you more than with you, but thus is human nature and she will most likely consider going with you.

Go to a store that has those little tiny fake gold staues ... there has to be one that says "World's greatest dancer", hand it to her and ask her to please accompany you to the dance :o) She will smile. I know they have those at Factory Card outlet here in Indiana

I assume you're in school? k, then...
tape some sweet song lyrics (printed out) to her locker and at the bottom, write, "will you go to the dance with me?" and then sign your name.
