Foreign terrorist attacks occur on US soil or military bases about every 7-9 years, going back to the 1970s.
So, Bush doesn't get any special credit for not blowing the historical average, just because there hasn't been an attack in 5 years.
And if you think the terrorists care what Bush thinks about them, you've seriously underestimated the threat and overestimated him.

By invading Iraq, many other countries are opposing of the invasion, many of those become the enemy of US, mainly to Bush's presidential office...
He should admit that and by doing it, he will gain the trust again from some of those countries that does not support his office!
Attack of 9/11 is a single attack, what about DRUG WARs that US is still facing?

He never said that the war in Iraq would scare the terrorist into submission. In fact, from the start, he has stated that the war on terror would be a long and difficult one. And I don't believe that he has implied that his actions have backfired, only that there is much left to be done and we must continue the fight. You really should pay better attention.

He has never admitted failure. The enemy is multiplying because of cowards like you. They know the next president will be afraid to do what is right for fear of "public opinion". The enemies grow as they cross the borders from Syria, Iran & etc. to join fight.
We have not had another terrorist attack because homeland security has been diligent in protecting us, our show of might has discouraged futher attacks. President Bush said it would be a hard & slow fight - did you think that meant a few months?

He's laying the groundwork for more offensives and is emphasizing even more the need to extend his war efforts around the world. He has an agenda and by pointing out the growth in terrorism he is also pointing out the need to keep sending troops out to advance is own imperialist aims.

Perhaps - at long last - your president is trying to have the interest of the nation in mind rather than party politics. Of course there is a minor chance that he is not too clever.

He said he don't care, he is almost out of office. he is leaving the mess for the next president. he made his money to get him and his family a nice underground bunker if anything is going to happen. If you ask me I think he is nothing but a sissy anyhow.
