Most clean freaks I know would never consider a dog. What about all that fur, too?!!! My house will never be totally clean. The only clean freak I know with a dog has some kind of tiny fluffy "designer" dog and I don't know if he gets to go out! (After all, she bought a brand new house years back with a dual-sided fireplace that she won't use and has furniture with absolutely nothing on it--no pictures even, as it's easier to dust!) Yep, must be one clean dog!

They dont usually own pets because of this, but there are always cases where they do have a dog or a cat and they dont usually let the dogs out run in the mud, they are usually indoor dogs and are bathed once a week and they brush them regularly and try to keep them very neat. They vacum everyday and clean the house more often.. how do i know this? I live with my mother, who happens to be a clean freak. Obidient well behaved dogs are a plus.

Well, I know someone that has 2 dogs inside and is a clean freak. Every time there is a mess she cleans it imidiately. She makes sure it's spotless every time. Her dogs also get 2-3 baths a week. But she loves her dogs and doesn't mind cleaning up after them.

You make a choice. Do you need everything perfect or want companionship that lasts for many years? I used to be a clean freak, but I choose to a adopt dog, then another, then another! Dogs aren't filthy animals. They just have a different version of clean. Dogs are usually quite trainable, and strive to please their owners. Sure they make messes, and have occasional slip ups. But so does my husband! I spend a lot more time on sanitation than I used to but oh well. We all make sacrifices for those we love!

I know one clean freak who got her first dog as a birthday gift. She is totally in love with the dog and it stays indoors except to potty. She loves him so much the dirty part doesn't bother her. Like a parent with a baby.

A). I dont allow my dogs (3) to spend any more time than needed to do thier 'business' on rainy days... try to excercise them indoors as much as possible. ( bouncing the ball off of walls, etc..)
B). try to keep the yard as thick as possible with grass.
Good luck...

OK...are you a "overly clean freak" or not? Understand where you are coming from. Have 4 dogs--- 3 inside that are about ankle high and all have an attitude. IF you have to ask about cleaning up behind your "loving -- thinks you hung the moon-stars-sun and created the Earth, Dog-- you have a problem.
Ten minutes?? Cleaning?? You need to find a home for the poor dog you have. Call the local rescue group dear....you can't handle having a pet. PLZ--PLZ

I'm sure they don't have dogs because the majority of them recognize that they're much too selfish and house proud. The ones who do have them probably have those poor dogs who are relegated to the yard and live out their lives in loneliness.

I've often wondered this myself...
My dog is about 150 smelly lbs. It takes so much more than a towel to get the stink offa him!
