I've got a pair of component speakers for my front doors and i cant find an easy place to mount them.
The crossovers are about 3"x 4"x 1 1/2"
The car is a 94' diamante mitsu...
I herd that the closer the crossover is to the speaker the better.
So I found one place inside of my doors were it wont be in the way of anything (window,etc...), but its going to be hard to mount there.

So i was wondering if maybe there was a different easier place to mount the crossovers.

Thanks

I'm not sure on the mitsu but in the past i have found the the best place is under the side kick panel or just above it out of sight. the distance is a factor only because of resistance..this can be solved by using larger wire IE 14 ga instead of the 18 ga usually provided. and it really isn't a factor until after 8 feet so it isn't that big of a deal .. find a good place where if you need to service it you can get to it without disassembling your car. good luck and good tunes ;)

X Over Man:

Be Careful!
Read All Instructions!
Take Your Time!
Make Sure You Have Everything You Need!
Don't Force Anything!
Tighten Up Your Sphincter Slightly!
Take A Few Deep Breaths Before You Perform The SMOKE TEST

TO MOUNT:
A good place to mount your crossover depends on your speaker arrangement. Categorically speaking xover location is the same place as if it has always been factory. Mounting is almost always best if front door speakers are components involved or the final product of the process. Be sure to install mount and speakers in a complete mounting position. Good luck. you can put them in the kick panel but running wires through a jamb is a bitc*,i always hang the panel and look from underneth to see if there are any voids of spaces like an buldge or pocket in the panel that would allow mounting(duct tape or hot glue) of the cross over if so just mark the door and test fit it to see if there is clearance,if not then you may have to resort to the kick panels

crossovers i presumed are oftentimes fixed on the subbox it is outdoors. in no way heard about it fixed on the door panels -_- i say do it interior truly of outdoors. if u do it outdoors it would want to be a watch catcher for theives. they see that, they're going to know you've sturdy audio device, they're going to know you need to have a sub, and a amp, and then your stereo.
