My girlfriend's boyfriend of 11 months, is a karaoke singer, he is an amazing singer. my girfriend doesn't sing. Well, when he takes her to karoake and when he sings on stage, the girls always want to sing duets with him and grab him to dance with them. When she sees this happening it upsets her. She doesn't like it when he talks to girls, she is afraid that the girls will take him away from her. She joined a gym a while ago to get herself to be in tip-top shape for him, she wants to look good for him, not that she wasn't in shape, she was, and goes to the gym regularly. When she met her boyfriend, this is what he likes to do is sing!

Sounds like she is extremely insecure. Has she ever thought that her inability to sing was one of the reasons he chose her to be his girlfriend?
Think about it. The guys in the crowd won't have a chance to ogle her gym-fit body or get a chance to flirt with the singer this way. He keeps her out of the spotlight and away from the other guys.
He knows girls get up on stage to be noticed, and to make their boyfriends jealous. He knows he is being used by the other girls, but he knows he has a girlfriend that doesn't get onstage to flirt with other guys. He is secure in the relationship because he knows it makes her nervous and she is more compliant with what he wants to do. He knows she is insecure and plays on that to keep her in line. That is why he does it besides it's what he likes to do.
He wins no matter what happens. Everybody wants to date the singer in the band. She should feel secure in the fact that he needs her to keep most of the other girls at bay. He can use her as an excuse to "bow out" of dating the "groupies".
It is a complex symbiosis that she is just going to have to get over if she wants a good relationship with this guy. It already strokes his ego to have her stay fit for him and not to show off her body to others by getting on stage to sing.

She should not be so insecure. Just talking is harmless. It's not like her guy can go through life totally avoiding all contact with women.
