Its time for a change. I want to do something to my hair, and I was kind of thinking about getting it dyed red with a few blonde highlights in the front--at a salon, of course. I like that look, but I don't know--would that be good or do you think that kind of look has been done too much?

a change is as good as a holiday...and you always feel great after being at the salon.....my suggestion is go red but maybe get strawberry blond highlights its not as bold and doesnt look so bad after a few washes....the red sometimes fades very quickly

I'd say if you're not sure, don't do it. Other than that, make the change subtle and/or semi-permanant so that if you don't like it, it wont seem so drastic afterwards. Also make sure that the hairdresser understands what you want, sits down and listens to you, shows you some swatches of the colours they are going to put on your hair, and that they are focussed on you, and not doing 3 people's hair at the same time!

I had the worst experience once when I had foils in my hair - I made a booking which the salon couldnt find, then when the hairdresser came to deal with me, she was already in the middle of someone elses hair. I asked for subtle blonde highlights, and after she put the foils in my hair, she left me under one of those heat things for over an hour while she went to cut another 3 people's hair. By the time the foils came off, my hair was completely stripped of any colour, it smelt like it was burning, and snapped off as the lady took them off to wash my hair!

Ya i know what you mean you want a change but blonde wouldnt go that good on red, if your hair is brown blonde goes great or if its blonde brown goes great or just die underneath your hair a color, cut it or just doing something else with your clothes or make up if you were any, and just try to put your hair up in differnt ways like the web or buns stuff like that well it your decision do what you want to do but these are just some iideas.

Red looks good on most everybody, but it is a hard color to keep up. The red fades quickly. I know because I naturally have shades red in my hair, and had the bright idea of coloring all of it red. The coloring did not last a full week.

Don't worry about the look being over or under done. If it looks good on you, go for it.

I think you look great the way you are. I got bored with my hair so I had a professional change it up and it came out sooooo horrible. I wish I never would have stepped foot in the salon,my hair looked WAY better before. I totally regret getting so bored with my hair. If it ain't broke, leave it alone.

Highlights are dunzo. Monotones are in and look more natural. Would you look okay as a redhead? If you aren't a natural redhead it may not look right and will be TONS of maintainence. Red washes out the fastest and if your natural color is far off your roots will look bad quickly too.

Absolutely! Red and blonde are gorgeous. Also, if you don't like the blonde, you can have more red put on, to take out the blonde.

I knew a redhead with blue highlights and it looked real cool. I don't know about blonde, but try it!

when you get highlights, you should only get it a few shades lighter than the rest of your hair. it'll look pretty strange
