I was at the adobe website, trying to downloaf mecromedia shockwave player, and when i clicked download, a blank white screen with a little icon in the far left corner. the icon was a little white box with a circle, triangl, and a square. how do i download macromedia shockwave player when that happens

You might want to look for a yellow bar right below where u type URL (i.e www.yahoo.com) ...There should be a message there saying " This site might require tthe following ActiveX control"
right click and press "install activeX control"
If there isn't a yellow bar, you might need to enable accpeting Active X content depending on which browser your using.

If you read the directions, you would find that when the player installs fully a video will play in that box.
