I was with the first calvary division of the U.S.Army in South Viet Nam's central highlands in 1966. While in division area I was nearly bitten by a cobra snake[struck my pant leg]. I was wondering if anybody can tell me if the military was prepared for such an emergency that would have occurred if snake had not missed it's mark..

most snakes are NOT poisonous, cobra can be found in Vietnam but they are not indigenous there. Similarly, When I was in the USArmy I was attacked by a brown recluse spider in a trench in South Carolina. This is the MOST poisonous spider in this continent, and I survived.
