I see your point, and I totally agree with it. I'm not racist either, but I don't think it's fair that we have to pay for their healthcare, they came here, whether it was legally or illegally, they should pay for their own stuff, just like we do. if they can't afford it, then they should go back home! i hate that our tax dollars go to them, and not to improving of country for us...we pay good money and it just goes down the drain. i'm nto trying to be mean, or racist or anything, but i totally agree..but if they are coming illegally, i dont' think a fence will do anything about it, they'll just sneak in some other way. i mean, if our country is so good to allow them in in the first place, they shouldn't have to sneak in. and if they are sneaking in, why are they? they have no reason to, unless they are criminals, rapists, etc, which i do not want in my country!!

To the_advisor, This country was not founded on freedom, it was stolen from the Native Americans. So, now all you people who's ancestors came here to escape poverty and opt for a better life have balls the size of boulders to tell others they can't come here. Now that you are here to reap the benefits of the United States, you want to turn your back on your fellow man who is suffering, and living in poverty.you claim the reason is that you don't want to pay for them. NEWSFLASH!! You will always pay taxes. Why? Because you live in the good ole U.S. of A. I am an American, and I work hard for what I have, but I will never ever turn my back on anyone who needs help. Just like you, I pay taxes, but I would rather they use my money to help ease human suffering than to spend billions to the scientist studying how fast ketchup flows. Think I'm kidding? Do some research. Yes, that's where some of your hard earned money has went to.It's really no use arguing over, because some people are selfish and they don't want others to have what they have.Well, not to worry, the way the economy is going over here, it won't be long before most of us are living in absolute poverty with a corrupt government. Wait a minute, did I just say it won't be long? Oh that's right, the government already is corrupt, and don't forget, China practically owns us right now. So when there are no jobs that pay enough to support the average American citizen, and you are part of the working poor, and there are no programs to help you, and you and your family are malnutritioned from lack of money to buy food, and your neighbors are dying from not being able to afford health care, and you live in a communist country and Canada has closed its borders, is it safe to assume that you will take to growing beets in your back yard and practice holistic health care, and build a house out of mud? Probrably NOT! Or would you risk everything you had,( which by the way was nothing but your life,) to cross the Canadian border ILLEGALLY for a BETTER life? Of course you would, and faster than a virgin c*ms,(might I add.) and your a Damn liar if you say otherwise!

Immigration is just symptom of what's wrong in our nation. With the possible exception of first degree murder, can you think of a single law that says what it means, and is enforced? For at least 95% of the people? Always? Today, we've lost the concept that a law is obeyed, because it's the law. Speed laws mean be careful, if you're more than ten over. Heck, it's only a half inch under, keep it. Take side streets when you drink. Use cash, if you pick up a broad in the bar, and decide to get a room. We expect dishonesty. From the President, down to the cop on the corner. But, in fairness, America has tacitly OK'ed illegal immigration for fifty years. Now, it's suddenly a terrible thing. Which is why laws should be enforced. Otherwise it ends up biting us on the asp.

I agree with some of your opinions wholeheartedly, but keep in mind that there are a lot of jobs that illegals do because Americans don't want to do them. Whether we like it or not, the GOVERNMENT themselves goes and ASKS these people to come into our country to work - i.e. on farms or other undesireable jobs. It has been this way since the beginning. As far as Mexico is concerned, there was a time where the government really did get rid of all the "illegals" but then they realized that they needed somebody to pick strawberries or something and they went down to the border and advertised the opportunity to work.
A fence really is an impossible answer because.. guess who is going to build it?? Not the Americans!

Everything is simple - black or white - and you have all the answers. Right?
Wrong. Illegal immigration is a two way street.
Do you think these people would be sneaking across the border if American businesses didn't hire them under the table or if the local and Federal governments didn't support them in other ways? Of course not.
Did you know that Mexico's biggest single cash cow is the money that these illegals send back home? Wow, a whole lot of Americans must be hiring illegals, eh? And that's not being addressed with any kind of serious effort, is it?
Have you ever asked your representatives why?

A fence is not the answer. What we need to do is hold the Mexican government responsible for its own people. What would happen if U.S. citizens started streaming into any other country on Earth and added to that countries problems? That countries government would tell the U.S. to get its people under control because they are your people and we do not want them. Why can't we do the same? If the Mexican government doesn't care then they can pay for them to become citizens of our country. If they refuse to cooperate, we could easily crush them economically by not purchasing their goods. A lot of things are produced in Mexico that we but and I'm sure they wouldn't want their country to fall because of this. The only issue would be to ensure they police their people humanely.

And I don't want my taxes taken out to support war efforts (and, believe me, a lot more of our taxes are used for that than are used for ANY sort of welfare programs.)
How do I sleep at night knowing that many of our CITIZENS are terrorists, rapists, criminals??? Why would an illegal immigrant be more likely to be a criminal than a legal immigrant, or ANY citizen for that matter?
I want to know why so many people are so riled up about illegal immigrants working in this country, instead of focusing on some of our very REAL problems?? (Education, health care, JOBS, etc.) Can't you rabid "anti-illegals" see that this is a smoke screen? a red herring?? Aren't you curious as to what the government is trying to hide, by tossing us this bone of contention?
Every "illegal" I've ever known worked for a rich Republican, by the way......

1) There are plenty of homegrown rapists and criminals and terrorists.
2) America IS an immigrant country. I'm third generation German/Danish. My great-grandparents got their heads measured becasue the Anglo-Saxon race felt they were inferior. So your concern is not new.
3) You should be more concerned about you tax money supporting: coups to overthrow democracies abroad, medical breakthroughs and technology that are then given to corporations and later sold back to you, the School of the Americas where we train future terrorists and dictators (go ahead, google it), the war in Iraq, corporate welfare, and your investments being stolen by the likes of Enron.
4) I had a friend who was a French illegal. She worked very hard, you weren't supporting her. Likewise for my illegal Mexican friends.
5) All civil liberties were gained by breaking the law. In other words, you're permitted to vote because women (and men) before you broke the law and were "ILLEGAL."
6) If the minimum wage was not so minimum (it should be at $22 an hour if it had increased at the rate of inflation since the 60s [talk to you parents]), and if corporations weren't moving their operations overseas, poverty and unemployment wouldn't be such an issue for our hard working lower class Americans.

I agree with you, but as a mexican LEGALLY living here, I feel really upset when I see avatars with my country's flag upside down, and a stupid cartoon peeing on it, why they don't understand that not all mexicans that live here are breaking the law?, and not all illegals are mexican?

yes I agree with your feelings,I believe it is unfair to the thousands who wait for years to get entrance into the united states the legal way, while these people come over dishonestly using up public resources, while good American citizens who pay taxes for years and were born here suffer because of it.It is not fair at all~! It does not make you a racist, just makes you a person who wants fairness for all. This country was founded on freedom, and we welcome foreign citizens, but we should never welcome illegal immigrants. It is totally unfair! and we as Citizens need to take a stand against this kind of corruption.
