I already use gimp for graphic design. Is there something similar with more features.

Well The Gimp is the best thing I know of. If you want vector graphincs like Illustrator defininatly check out Inkscape http://www.inkscape.org/
You can try Xara: http://www.xaraxtreme.org/ I've heard a few good things about it but I haven't looked at it myself.
