our government is considering giving them amnesty. Wow! So if hundreds of thousands of legal citizens just decide to no longer pay federal taxes, they will pardon us won't they?Is not paying your federal taxes any more illegal than entering the USA illegally? How could it be any more WRONG?

'fierce' gutless guy- Why do you attack me and call me the names you call your wife? You are such a loser. You would be dead if you called me that name in the presence of my husband. You are obviously one of the illegals or a supporter of them. Name calling is so typical of their childlike mentality. They (you) want someone else to feed them, clothe them, house them, take care of them, just like little children. Their days ore numbered in the USA. I guess you imbeciles will go out kicking and screaming just like little wimpy kids. LMAO *\(^_^)/*

Kind of makes a person wonder just how serious the government is on the war on terror if they can't even see fit to guard our borders at a time of war. Didn't 9/11 teach us that terrorist can hit us on our own soil? Make a person also wonder just how serious our government is on the war on drugs as well as the war on poverty. The gaping border floods the US with both totally impoverished people and tons of drugs. This means paying taxes is like paying for something you don't get.

Back in 1980 it was the same dog and pony show. Just give us amnesty no more will come without doing it the right way, the legal way.Pro Illegal keep shouting they do pay taxes but one has to really wonder when an illegal alien makes up a SS number is it him paying the taxes or the fake SS number paying taxes, so if you have to lie about who you are your dues count regardless of how's it done.? Pro Illegal tend to support the use of fake documents one can only wonder how many SS numbers have the pro illegal offered after all that's the new way of doing things. Pro illegal want no border control they claim yes we want it ,yet when the border patrol actually do their job they complain loudly how unfair the border patrol is and they all should be fired give that smuggler his drugs. Pro illegal tend to like drugs as they clearly defend any Mexican caught with drugs with the border patrol policy is not to pursue them anyone besides Mexican great job yeah our America Border Patrol. I don't know what planet these pro illegals are on but their attitudes to life are destroying this country with a bunch of cheap labor who at some point will be old and gray will turn to costly labor as the health care cost's will be staggering but pro illegal expect anyone from Mexico who wants to come to come. They say no amnesty reflect back to 1980 the same claim was being shouted.

Twenty million is an inconceivable number. The primary purpose of government is to protect its borders. Citizens pay taxes to support this service. The US government is clearly in breach of contract. Perhaps this absolves citizens of their responsibility to pay that portion of taxes allocated to border security. Tax revolts are effective if widespread (IE the Poll Tax revolt in Britain), but I wouldn't recommend doing it alone.

The NAFTA agreement was supposed to be part of the solution. The concept was to improve economic conditions in Mexico through trade and thereby remove the incentive to immigrate. There was a wave of investment in Mexico following NAFTA, but the business shifted to SE Asia going from low to abysmal wage rates. Corporate America makes a buck, but does not pay the indirect costs (such as illegal immigration). Making NAFTA work is half of the solution. The other half of the solution is to politely send the 'illegal visitors' home. An annual quota of perhaps 10% each year would clear up the problem in a decade.

But if they were allowed to work, they'd contribute to the economy and pay taxes... and Social Security, which is in trouble thanks to our elected officials that squandered those surplus funds left by the previous administration! They will pay taxes so that our elected officials can continue to mis-spend and squander or embezzle our tax monies and give it away to other nations while our elderly and disabled and poor and homeless continue to suffer (like with the victims of Katrina... have you forgotten already?). Right now, there are many contractors making money off the backs of the illegals who are being paid pittance and these contractors are not paying their fair share of taxes or contributions to FICA (Social Security) or Workman's Compensation, etc., just like the super rich and power companies that get tax breaks (do not pay their fair share of taxes), and send American jobs overseas where they can pay children who are forced and beaten to work 10-16 hours a day, women are paid less than men for the same work performed, and Americans are still unemployed! THOSE are the "illegals" that YOU should be complaining about! Wake up and see the facts!

I would agree with your ideas, but perhaps your sentiments are a little bit skewed. There is a better way to make your point without putting yourself and your family into trouble with the IRS.
You would be better off rounding up a petition for you local congressman/woman to tell them what you want them to do. Or better than that organize a movement for mass mailing to them with your ideas and what you want them to do. Not paying your taxes would only mean that you will be facing legal troubles.

It's not about right and wrong for them. They just do or allow whatever suits their agenda. It's that simple. They make the rules, and we don't. They decide who can break the rules and who they'll change the rules for, and we have to live by their rules. They decide just how their going to screw everyone else over, and we sit at our computers whining about it with the same enthusiastically apathetic outrage as always.

im sure the government is that stupid...but then again, look at our president. lol. im sure there would be more to it then just granting illegal citizens amnesty. i mean there has to be more, they won't just grant amnesty and let more people come in. they would have to have a plan to stop the immagration or whatever they call it.

don't you realize its all political? the liberals are courting the hispanic vote, and the repubs are trying to make sure their corporate buddies have cheap labor. and anyway, the immigrants are not the problem with this country. they are just easiest to blame. and yes, they should come legally but that is very difficult when poor, which most of them are.

Totally agree. Plus how about how all the LEGAL immigrants feel. They had to jump through all these hoops to become legal and now everyone else gets it for free.
