Dogs howling in tune?

If dogs howl in tune ambulances is that abnormal?

Yes very normal, the ambulance sound hurts their ears since they can hear long distances. You have to understand is like someone taking one of this fog horns blowing in your ear. So the dogs all howl at the same time loud while ambulances go by hoping their howl would be a louder deeper sound that would cover the ambulance noise, kind of like one frequency fighting another frequency, until the ambulance sound stops or fades. Does this make sense? Hope I didn't confuse you, I tend to confuse people.

I don't know if it's normal or not, but a neighbor of mine (older man, and kind of like his hobby), has dogs that howl at anything. They are just a few hundred yards of my bedroom window, and yes, they harmonize at times. Drives me crazy and then the wife yells at them to try to shut them up. But the poor guy is old and that is his passion, so I can't complain. They will be in tune to ambulances, fire trucks, etc.

My dogs are howlers/singers. We are in the country so not many sirens here but they howl when I sing to them. They really get going to the tune of "How much is that doggy in the window".

Normal, and cute! They howl at sirens, some howl with music. Guess they are just expressing themselves.

I used to call that the Siren Sonata! Happened every time an emergency vehicle went by. The reason is because they hear different pitches and I guess it touches a primal instinct in them.

ya my dogs do that. So do all the other dogs in my neighborhood. I would not be worried. Just laugh when it happens.
