Be content with being who you are. It is the inner self that dictates happiness. Not material things.
Our attitude is something we can control. Decide to make the best of every situation. Life sends us many curve balls, and some of them are lousy but all are opportunities to learn and grow
Be good to yourself and to others. Helping other people in some small way through this journey is probably life's greatest reward.

Is this easy. Of course not but worth striving for. Hope you take a part of tomorrow for yourself to enjoy this wonderful world.

I think you have to be a committed "seeker." By that I mean that you must try to educate yourself as much as you can about how to be content. "Happiness" is very elusive--I think that Americans, in particular, feel that there is something "wrong" with them if they are not "happy" all the time; hence, so many are taking anti-depressants. My happiest moments are when I am being useful in some way--perhaps, not making a big dent in the world's problems, but contibuting in my own way. I am a Christian, and loving and serving Christ has been the greatest adventure and learning experience of my life. You will find that it is Christ, not you, who will (or has already) make the initial effort to begin a relationship with you. The main point is--don't expect "happiness" to just come to you, or to be a result of sharing your life with someone (marriage). You must make consistent effort. It is a daily choice.

finding tranquility. roll with the punches. take everything in stride. when you fall down, get back up, dust yourself off and try again. be optimistic. have self-confidence. do things you enjoy doing. dont worry about what everyone thinks about you. only worry about what you think of youself. pamper yourself. dont take everything so seriously. a rule of thumb that i like to live by is this quote i heard many years ago, "Base not your joy upon the deeds of others, for what is given can be taken away". you cannot expect other people to make you happy. you have to teach yourself how to be happy. and above all else, learn patience. patience can be a life-saver.

the "higher" your "vibratory rate" the happier you will be. externals are essentially irrelevant. alot of meditation, exercise, "energy work" like tai chi , reiki, chi kung, etc, help to up the rate. see also http://www.sahajayoga.com also, you must learn to train your mind to avoid negativity. see *the complete idiot"s guide to toltec wisdom* very profound insights and help. a mind that is allowed to run wild will leave you no peace. good luck ;-)
