Is it written in the bible that it is wrong to tell the future or the past?

"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you." (Deut. 18:10-14, NKJV)

In the bible is written there will be more prophets. But psychic predictions are to much rubbish, only money making. The only prophet I know of, was Nostradamus. I am no christian.

My mother in law, who is very a bible thumping Pentecostal Lady.Has had guests to her church that tell the future, so not all Christians believe this. She would never go have a reading done but it was OK for this guest speaker to give predictions. I guess it just depends on where you are and who's doing the readings!!

I sincerely hope you won't seek advice from anyone who claims to be able to foretell the future. At best, such claims are fraudulent and you will only be wasting your money; at worst, you could find yourself entangled with occult spiritual powers that will deceive and harm you.

This is why the Bible repeatedly warns us against any type of occult practice. The ancient world was filled with all kinds of superstitions and occult practices, but God's people were warned not to let themselves be influenced by them. The Bible says, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist, or who consults the dead" (Deuteronomy 18:10-11).

Instead, I urge you to turn to God and seek His will for your future. God loves you; He loves you so much that He sent His only Son into the world to give His life for your salvation. Why not trust your life into His hands? By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ to forgive your past and come into your life today.

Then commit your future into His hands. I can't promise all your problems will suddenly go away—but I do know this: It's far better to face the future with God than without Him. Don't follow the wrong path in life, but follow Christ instead. You'll never regret it.

Don't psychic predictions lessen reliance on the normal ways of operating where one uses

common sense, statistical analysis, imitation of role models, confirmation from friends?

Nothing like that in the bible. It is like most "atheists". They fear what they do not understand. I only have one question: If a person can be a real psychic, Why has one never won the big lottery?

In the Old Testament, God told the Jews not to associate with fortune tellers, witches, etc. I believe that its because (1 ) only God knows whats gonna happen next and (2) these ppl may be more susceptible to Satan and his lies. If listened to, then the lies will spread.

I would assume that since some psychic abilities are related to magick that they consider it satanic. I don't know the absolute truth though so I don't claim to have the right answer.
