It is really hard to make an impression on anyone strictly online. They can't see your facial expressions and know if you are sincere or not. Yes, you can write a poem, if you are sincere and it is not too mushy. Just tell her nice things about her personality or her features if you know what she looks like. Most important, be honest, lying catches up with you, and be respectful.
