I played a wedding gig at a Catholic church and it was a very nice church (Geodesic dome) had a nice pipe organ (30 foot piples) and the vibe was pretty good. The acoustics were great and our song went off quite well. It litterally rang the room.
Generally I don't feel good in Churchs. There is too much silly formality. It beats me how anyone knows how to find or sing the Hyms, too much standing (and in Catholic churchs too much kneeling) and the average Protestant "communion" with grape juice little fish crackers just doesn't do it for me.
The seats are hard, you have to get all dressed up.
TOo much pomp and circumstance. It's like graduating high school.
I walk by churches all the time and when people leave the church their driving is horrible, it's like they can't wait to get out of there and go somewhere else. I can't tell you have many times I've almost been run over by church goers leaving a church in a big hurry!

Remember the words of Jesus Christ: "Where two or three are gathered together, there am I also." I think he would be appalled at today's money-grubbing big-business churches and would immediately ask followers to join with him in a smaller setting. And remember also, he told people NOT to worship him, but his father, God, so I think he would be equally upset and appalled at the fact that people are doing just exactly what he said NOT to do - worshipping him. Churches today are little more than moneymaking operations preying upon the poor and middle-class who are hoping to buy their way into heaven. So, how could anyone in their right mind enjoy spending a Sunday morning in what is essentially a buy/sell operation? Give us your money and we'll see what we can do about getting you into heaven. Disgusting.

I think I was about 4 or 5. My brother and sister and I were playing with toys we snuck into church. We were happy and playing quietly but my father caught us and scolded us all. That was the end of the fun.

A couple of months ago my son's church had youth day, so he and some of the other youths did the service. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Two years ago for a funeral for a family friend, and three years ago for my father-in-law's funeral.
Did not really enjoy it, but I was amazed I remembered all the words to the readings and songs.

This afternoon, I got to work with a group of teens. They are singers and musicians and I am helping them put together a worship band for the elementary age classes at church. The kids were awesome! Great worship and dance for The LORD.

2 weeks ago. Sometimes it is hard to stay focused because there is so much going on in my life. So when I start slipping, I remind my self that I am in a temple to worship God with my church family and all that other stuff can wait til I am finished worshiping My God.
