I know this will come as a shock, but there is no ultimate truth, only a bunch of partials.
and yes, sometimes it's better to believe a lie than to believe truth, sometimes believing that lie will make it true.
if you can understand this then you are on the right path, if not then I can only hope your eyes will one day open.

Yes it can happen. It is like if one day someone start a rumor about something and some people will believe it even if that was a lie.
Or a person who told you the true about something that she had done in your back, she told the true but you will reject her.

Of course you can CHOOSE to believe a lie...you have free will !
You can reject the truth of the bible if you want...but remember...you will also be responsible for the consequences!

Of course. There was a time when it was common knowledge that the world was flat. When Columbus proved otherwise he was imprisoned because no one believed him. I had a boyfriend a while ago that caught his father in bed with a woman who was not his mom. When he told his mom that his dad was cheating she called him a liar and said "I know your dad would never do something like that because he loves me and would never do something to hurt me."

"You said you spoke to God and asked a question.
You were wondering what's the use of it all.
He said, "Everyone does what they want to,
providing that it's true, that's all."
"Hey big G," you said, "There's my problem,
I'm not so sure 'bout what's true."
He said, "I'll let you in on my big secret Ray,
The final truth is -- there is no truth."

Adam and Eve did it and paid a heavy price along with the rest of humanity. But God provides a remedy.
God's Gospel:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Easily.
The thing is, truth is always subjective. What is true for you may not be true for anyone else. The best we can come up with for so-called 'objective' truth is common consensus.
