It was extremely exciting for me. I like you was in my 40s. Now 10 grandkids later it is so cool. I am like a god to them because I have been able to impart my life experiences to them in many ways. The love that I receive from them has no comparison and I can spoil the heck out of them and return them to their parents.

I am very happy when people get what they want and for you I think it is great. I have three grand babies which are no longer babies. I was 18 when my daughter was born and she birthed her first when she was 16. So I was a young grandpa. It was great and I took the classes. But really there are millions of them born each year and over 6 billion alive right now. It is not that new of a thing and not that big of a deal. I know some people just freak out and jump up and down and tell everyone but come on.. It is just a human born. Nothing new just to you only. Enjoy your family and protect them with all you got in you. But remember to most people this is just a new victim come into the world. Keep quiet about it and maybe no nut case will do anything bad to them. You brag too much and someone will take that away from you because they don't have the same thing. Who knows maybe you will be willing to pay money to get them back..
Keep it to yourself. Be safe..

I was 45 when I found out my son and wife was going to give me a grand child. There isn't enough space to tell you how happy, overjoyed, greatful, thankful and blessed to find out I was going to be a grand mother. Then 2 months later she had a miscarriage. That was one of the worst days of our lives. But then a couple or three months later she gave me the news again. I was all the above again. I took her shopping and bought all her maternity clothes for her, july 31st, 5 days after my b/day she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Zoie Marie. Then when she turned three, they divorced, she moved back to her home town 1500 miles away, married my son's best friend and we have never got to see her since. She turned 8 this past July. There is a hole in my heart that will never heal, I pray for her each night asking God to take care of her. The worst part is not knowing if she is being taken care of properly, has warm clothes, enough to eat. It is so sad there are not a grand parent law in this USA. LOL

Extremely exciting, just like it is for each time I find out that I am going to be a Grandma.
Hey, Grandma it is our duty as grandparents to spoil our grandchildren and then let the parents take them home.
Congrats!

47. My daughter told me she didn't want kids and I accepted that but I was so happy when she told me she'd changed her mind and she was expecting. I now have 1 grandson and 1 grandaughter and they are "GRAND".
