I'll be staying within a few blocks of the White House. How much should I expect to pay per day for parking?

look into the metro. You can park your car outside the city for much less and use the metro for everything while your there. very nice stuff.

To dang much HA!

At parking garages, weeknights and weekends average $5 - $20 depending on location and if there's an event going on at MCI Center, or whatever it's called these days.

During the day, there are early bird specials in garages and at lots ranging from $8-$15 if you arrive before 9 am and stay all day, but you are competing with monthly pass parkers and the rush hour crowd.

Street parking is a roulette game -- take your chances if you wish, but DC parking enforcement is NO JOKE.

Best bet if you must drive is to park at your hotel and such up the daily rate - even if it is $17-25 a day. You get in and out privliges and a guaranteed space. Another reason why you gotta luv Metro when in the city!

Enjoy DC!

Here's a map with garages which are closeby the White House. It's rates are included and are pretty standard for DC
