My calling is to be a dispenser of wisdom (I'm not kidding). My advice is free and worth every penny.

Sit down in a quiet room. No radio, no TV, no people.

Close your eyes and clear your mind.

Now focus on what you do (or would like to do) to make yourself happy. It could be anything. Cooking, taking care of kids, playing golf, refinishing furniture, arguing politics, brain surgery.

That's your calling.

Now, do you have talent in that area? Do you have experience? Do you need more training or education? Go out and make it happen.

Very few people ever get the "voice out of heaven" type calling. Most folks either gravitate toward their interests and what they do well, or fall into an occupation because of need (unexpected parenthood, etc.).

I'm sure you know by now what your strengths and weaknesses are. If you have never been to college, there are universities now that allow you to take one class per month at night while you work your regular job in the day time. Sometimes, they even allow credits for work experience if your job relates to your degree objective.

But then, you might have always been a free spirit. Maybe starting your own business is the way to go.

Only you can answer these questions. But the longer you continue to over-analyze and don't take action, the more of life will pass you by--and that can never be redeemed.

It sucks to feel a drift and not know "what your purpose is" So my heart goes out to you.

Your calling is doing what you like. Whatever you would do if you didn't need money is your calling. This doesn't mean your calling is shopping or watching T.V. This means whatever you would do if you had the time and money is your calling. It may education or medicine or law. It may be writing or whatever.

I think a lot people worry too much about whether they are following their calling. Do what you love and don't be afraid to change what that is if you try it and it turns out you don't like it. Again as a qualifier this doesn't mean don't make money. Be a responsible adult and work a job with benefits and have some retirement for when you can't work. If you are not lucky enough to do a job that you love do it after you get off work.

You are 34 years old from birth but not 34 years old from your creation.

God created you for a purpose and has a plan for you in this life. You are fighting Him with your unbelief and your lack of knowledge from His Word.

If you want to be pleasing to God then do what God says. There is no pre life or other life as someone else. Where did you ever come up with that?

Start with God and ask for help. Repent of your sins and receive forgiveness through the Blood of His Son Jesus Christ. Read His Word to show yourself approved.

Then get ready because God loves you so much many blessings are to come your way.

Do it.><>

I believe in only one life (no reincarnation), and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Holy Orders are given by my Roman Catholic Priests to the Catholic men. Women too have callings, which traditionally has been motherhood, nursing, teaching, and becoming nuns. With technology, women are able to do many more professions. From what I've noticed from observing people is that they have many callings to meet different era's of their lives. So, yes, you could be called to motherhood, and then called to teaching later.

If you were Roman Catholic I would urge you to discuss this with your Priest since they can spiritually guide you. Maybe, you were meant to move slower than society; and you still need time to explore as you've been doing. What ever your path, strive for a life of love and helping others.

I really liked the movie (still needing to read the book) "The five people you meet in heaven". It was great to identify with a person who lived their whole life wondering what their calling was, and getting their answer in heaven. So, you may have to wait to get the big picture --- full enlightenment.

A calling is just a hint -- from our subconscious, our higher self, or from a higher power, depending on your personal beliefs.

Even without a calling, you still must have interests, maybe some goals. Start with the ones right in front of you. Keep moving through life, adding goals, picking up momentum.

Sometimes, we figure out where we want to go after we get there.

Watch the movie Office Space. It's a great movie and will also answer your question. The advice given is something to effect of asking yourself 'what would I do if I won a million dollars in the lottery.' After all the partying and spending, what would you do. Then do that.

P.S. Kids are great. I hope you have that joy one day. Motherhood might be your calling, so find a good man!!

Having a calling is another way to say follow your bliss. That you have not found it yet does not mean you do not have it. There will be something that brings you the most joy to be around, to participate in.

How to find your bliss is not easy to tell you as most of us find it in different ways. I will recommend that you read Ching Tao (don't worry it is in English as well) learn to quiet your mind, let it be vacant, allow room into your mind for new creative ideas with meditation.. I think you will find something that keeps coming to mind that you would like to do.

As long as you are dwelling on not having or knowing what your calling is, it will probably keep eluding you as you are not leaving room in your mind for new ideas and thoughts to form. Relax you do not need to know your calling this early in your life... and some people, although it is rare, do not find their bliss until shortly before there time has come to move on. It really does not matter as you will find it when you are supposed to find it.

someone before suggested "in case you suggested convinced to the action picture, then he's acquainted with you want him." this isn't authentic. women persons lately say convinced to dates with adult men they don't love romantically continually. they're going to be guessing all nighttime the way you experience. the only ingredient it is certain-hearth for me, if the female is SO comfortable in the course of the action picture that she rests her head on my shoulder, that tells me i need to placed my arm round her. Then its threat-free so that you'll position your hand someplace non-sexual, surely to make contact with him. If he would not get the clue with the help of this aspect? he's not any longer properly worth a even as.

Sweet peaches--it is everyone's first life. The Bible says that the resurrection is the only hope for those who have died. God is calling you to find him and know him. At John 17:3 the Bible says that it means everlasting life to take in knowledge of the only true God and of his son, Jesus Christ. Trust me, it is the way to life.
