Don't expect it to work like a relaxer or straightner would on your hair. Basically, it really seals down the cuticle layer on your hair and makes it very shiny and does help make it a little easier if you do use a flat iron on your hair. It will make your hair feel smoother. Of course I should preface that by saying I know the professional ones will do what I've described, I can't say for the over the counter brands.
It's kinda like all the straight headed people that fell for the Curling Shampoo stuff. It simply cannot work. For the people that already had some wave in their hair, it might accent it a bit more, again by tightening up the cuticle layer on their hair. This is the same thing. If you have curly hair, don't expect the stuff to straighten your hair. It doesn't have the chemical makeup to do that...it's impossible. But it can make your straighening sessions go more "smoothly"!

I have tried a few, and the results were all about the same. They didn't actually straighten, but they did help with frizz and my hair did look healthier after using a flat iron. I think the idea with the straightening products is that the heavier ingredients simply weigh the hair down, but do not actually straighten.

any straightening products i have tried have all been disappointing. even if they worked a little, i still had to blow dry and flat iron and all that crap that i had to do before so i wasn't saved any time. now i just embrace my curls and i am no longer a slave to my hair! :)
