Well, because it is insulting, but mainly because casualties are divided into Killed in Action, Wounded in Action and Missing in Action. KIA,WIA,and MIA

In war there are no casualties, a casualty would imply that there was an accident, accidents within our ranks are logged under friendly fire, where as there isn't a accidental kill from the enemy, those would all be intentional. Also cow would not sound respectful to the deceased.

Why would you want to ask a question like this when our relatives are out there fighting to scare the sh*t out of terrorists? If you were fighting for the future of your country and got shot or hurt would you like to be called an animal that is typically slaughtered for food? Maybe in India it would be an honor but here in the best country in thew world it would be absolute disrespect.

Because casualties of war are things that happen, and prisoners of war are people. If you can't educate yourself enough to figure out that a 'casualty' isn't a person, or even spell 'casualty' right, people might call YOU an idiot. And they'd be right!

Because people never use the term "Casualty of War"

Because COW's sounds stupid.... its KIA Killed In Action. Sounds alot different, and alot more practical. That and its disrespectful and I really myself wouldn't want to say "They were COW-ed" I would prefer someone or myself to say "They/he/she was/were/ KIA"

Do not be disrespectful of the dead, esp. those who died to allow the freedom to ask such a dumb question.
