ok, pay attention i'll only say this once. I have a very good friend from honduras. this is what he told me about illegal immigrants.

they come here, work for cash and take just enough to live on and send the rest home. since the mexican economy is severly lacking compared to ours. 1 us dollar = 11 pesos, they work here for a few years and go home.

with the currency conversion a man can live like a king.

and that is the bottom line.

Well, I happen to live in mexico half the time. And you know what? There are many foreigners working "there" too...AND...the 11 peso thing... well what do you think a cup of coffee costs in mexico city? well in a decent coffee shop of which there are maybe thousands...12 to 15 pesos..that is more than a buck. And a meal?..55 to 100pesos for a regular restaurant. Breakfast...almost always 35 to 50 pesos....So don't give me this crap. It is a bit cheaper in the provinces, and if yoiu are poor of course..you learn to eat at home and very cheap...
People come here with a dream. They are almost always misunderstood by people like yourself. When you go to their country you will always be treated with respect. Even though you say that his guy from Honduras is your friend, your statement above smacks of some kind of discontent with foreigners...get over it pal...do a little world travel and EDUCATE YOURSELF

i see the answer as having three parts.
1) seeking jops with better pay to send home some cash to support those who did not come and then return home.
2) escape mexico or other country and plan to live here idefiently like most other immagrants from other parts of the world
3) get their childern to enroll in the schools hear and then move back once their child has had a good education. this one can apply to either one or 2.

also a intresting note is the lack of illegeal imagrant workers in the califorina valley leaving many crops unpicked and many of the legal workers holding out for fair wages

I'm sorry but your friend from Honduras is not telling you the truth, it's true that 1 dollar= 11 pesos in mexico, but for your information the price for a gallon of milk in Mexico is 30 pesos, so they don't live like kings, most of them, just make enough money to feed their families, so stop listening to your friends who know nothing about Mexico.

I am a painting contractor for 25 years. The Mexicans have their own companies now
because they want all the money. So they get their relatives to work cheap for them
and cut the throats of legit companies by working so cheap as to put us out of business.
And they could are less. They are the scum of the earth !

Additionally, very few "Americans" are willing to do the type of labor for the small pay that certain jobs require. How many of us would be willing to work in a field from sun up to sun down every day for one or two bucks an hour?

Because they don't want to live in Mexico, therefore they come here and steal all of our jobs. Not all of them are bad someone needs to clean our restrooms! You answered your own question! You lost 5 points

They come here to work because they can better their lives and we have lots of unfilled jobs. Why do we have a lot of unfilled jobs? Because Americans have become very lazy and dont want to work. I think too many Americans figure "why work If I can get something for nothing".
