1. Without immigration, this nation would be shrinking. We have a negative birth rate, and so without people moving to the nation we'd stop growing.

2. People are good for the country. Lots of anti-immigration folks say immigrants are "taking jobs." But that is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of economic theory. When our nation grows, we add jobs. If adding people diminished the supply of jobs, we'd all be in trouble, since the population is something like 10x larger now than it was 100 years ago. And clearly people are better off now, despite the increase in population. More people=more consumers=more jobs.

3. Illegal immigrant males have the highest workforce participation rate, at about 95%. That's over 10% higher than native born males. In other words, they're coming here to work, so let's let them work legally and pay more taxes.

4. Every child who graduates high school produces a net profit for the nation of over $200,000. The more immigrants that come and the more we educate, the more we will be a wealthy nation.

5. America was founded on immigration. The only people who have any legitimate right to oppose immigration are Native Americans. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of how we welcome immigrants.

6. I still believe in helping people who need it. I still believe that our nation, the richest in the world, can serve as the land of opportunity for those who want to come and work.

Legal immigration? Let's see if I can help.
1.) Immigrants helped to build this country. They are doing so to this day.
2.) Most are looking for a better life. In that process they make life better for all of us.
3.) New Americans bring new ideas.
I have no problems with legal immigration. It's the illegal immigration that bothers me. We have rules that cover immigration.

Without immigration, most of the world would sitll be uninhabited. It's possible America wouldn't even have any people. Americans immigrated from other countries and would probably will be in Europe. Native Americans are rumoured to be from Asia, so it's possible America wouldn't even have any people.
Just because you might not like this doesn't mean it isn't true. Deal with it.

I don't have 3 only 1. Because this is the foundation upon which our country was built. We are the nation we are because of immigration. Good or bad we are different than any other country and this is because we are a nation of immigrants. It is trite because it is true.

It would improve trade relations with other countries as their citizens could move to this country for business related issues.

Legal immigrates pay taxes and generally follow all normal rules. So why shouldn't we?

Legal immigration is good for everyone.

You should write a paper on reasons to not allow immigration, sounds like your teacher is forcing idea's on you. Unless they also have asked for a paper on that but some how I doubt it.

Reason #1: We already do allow immigation...LEGAL IMMIGRATION.

Reason #2: LEGALIZED IMMIGRATION is already a vital aspect of American society.

Reason #3: Open Borders would effectivley end our country as we know it.

There's your 3 reasons, but I assume your kook-lib teacher is making you write about immigration in the sense that we should allow all the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to come in whenever they choose and suck our country dry. So make those 3 points instead, and turn his/her subversiveness on its ear.
