There is a paint color called "Coriander". It is a deep creamy tan. It is rich enough for depth and neutral enough to accent bold colors. If there is a True Value Hardware store in your area, that is where you can get the specific color. Most home improvement stores will research the name of a color for you so you can get the color even if it isn't in their inventory or they call it a different name. Good Luck!

Without seeing the style of furniture you have and you didn't say what feel you are going for, I would say that this color is awsome to work with. You are right, you don't want it on the walls too.....would loose the furniture and maybe look Army. You could stick with nuetrals, such as beige (I would prefer somethin in the Tan line) If you are going more romantic, feminine you could even do a light lavendar or a mellow yellow. Earthy look - browns. Deep red for an English study look. Greens are actually a nuetral color in nature....so you can take it from there.

Olive is a lovely color for furniture, but because it is more dark than light, you would do best to go with a light pastel for the walls - perhaps a rich cream. If you want to be more earthy or desire more contrast, select an eggshell base with a tiny splash of mocha coloring for a warmer appearance. This scheme will be a natural for the addition of houseplants.

I would use a neutral wall color- white, off white, beige. Anything bolder will make the room seem smaller and your furniture really stick out. You can use your furniture as the starting point to match curtains, accessories, pictures, etc to design your room. It is much easier than trying to tie everything together with your wall color later if you decide to get new furniture.

Light beige to cream walls. Off white trim. Accent the ceiling with a shade darker beige. Curtains should be a dark cilantro green subtle plaid draperies, maybe tab tops with a medium wood curtain rods. Under curtains hang bamboo bamboo roman blinds. Accent the sofa with pillows sewn from the same curtain material to tie the look together and a yellow accent pillow. Add a natural wicker club chair with a yellow cushion. Accent rug with greens and beiges and yellow. Lots of brass accessories. Lamps and knick knacks. A potted plant or two as accents. Maybe some art with a beige mat over a green mat. Glass coffee table with maple base. A piece of yellow and green art glass or vase will be a conversation piece on the coffee table.

Paint your walls a warm tan color and your trim in the olive green of your furniture.Bamboo looks great with olive green, so be sure to use it in accent pieces. You might even think of applying a bamboo or grassy wallpaper on one or more walls half way up. Use plenty of dark green plants in silk and real.

White and beige go with just about anything. Personally I prefer to keep the walls as neutral as possible, use furniture drapes and accessories to add color. Tastes change and styles change -- and changing wall color is a pain in the a**.

Olive green isn't a color I'm used to trying to work with. But you could try some kind of cream color. Or perhaps some bright, bold red or pink, depending on your taste in colors. Another alternative is the cream, and red curtains.

I also have olive green colored furniture. I painted my living room a shade of brown - it's darker than "brown paper bag", but lighter than expresso... I don't know, it's a medium brown I guess. I think it's really nice. My curtains are a simple off white (unbleached cotton). Then my accessories are mustard yellow, red, burnt orange... Just an idea.

I agree with all the others answerers. Keep it neutral - off white, cream or beige would look nice. Then u can go bold n crazy with accessories. You could use greens, black or even just white - actually anything goes. For a punch of color I would suggest red or black. They always add that final omph to a room in my opinion. Check out some fabric stores for curtains and pillow covers - just use iron-on hem - thats what I do cuz I couldnt sew for the life of me.
