seriously, it's not bad, i mena, i can kinda see the one ending in gger being derrogatory, but the one ending in gro is just technical. seriously, it's been on taped presidential and political speeches, how bad could it be to be used there?

ok, i'm getting some good answeres up to "someone" but seriously, your saying that it was used in a derrogitory sense, but whites HATED balcks, jesus, their names were derrogitory, no matter what they called them, it was bad. and that word ending in ger or gro, according to every bit of reserch i've done, hasn't done any more damage than slavery, and almost none since the before the 70's. and just to say it, i do get called whited and cracker ALL THE TIME!!!!! but if i filed a case for racism, all i'd get is the bill for the lawer. but if i call someone black intead of "person of color" i can get sued. and that is a load of **** now that's a real curse word!

white--If you're talking about the ni**** word, come on, are you daft? The word used to refer to a group of people who were seen as (and were leagally) property, and not human? If you can't understand that, there's no hope. If you're talking about the ne**** word, it's not quite as bad, but it still has a negative connotation because of it's history, in that it comes from an ere when white people were actively discriminating against black people and they were remanded to second class citizenship. Just don't use it, why is that so hard?

ok, i'm black....when i was younger i used that word a lot....it really pissed me off to hear a person that was not black say it. why? because it was used as a form of affection....now i am older and i have kids. i don't want to hear anyone say it black white purple or green but if i must hear it i would prefer that the person who is saying it is black. it has a negative history behind it and it is disrespectful.
have you ever looked it up in the dictionary? well at any rate, it is very derogatory to black people. *****, well that is not bad or derogatory but i still don't want to hear a person that is not black say it to me....that would make me raise an eyebrow.

It's rarely -if ever- used in a good, kind or loving way. I could happily go the rest of my life without hearing the word said near me or to me. It never feels good to hear it. Black people can use it to show they're cool with using it, as a way to shut other people out. Other people use it to show how comfortable they are with shutting themselves off from Black people, or to show how much they don't care about how the word might hurt any Black people who might overhear.
"*****" is old-fashioned and often seen as condescending in tone. If a modern political figure used the word now, it would just show how out-of-touch the person is with his or her constituency.

Use common sense man! The "N" word is about the lowest, most demeaning word a white person could use in reference to a Black person! That is common sense 101!

Our ancestors used it and didn't much like the people (for no good reason), so it became used in a derogatory sense. Since then, there has been what is known as a "euphemism treadmill"; I, as a result, try to avoid describing what people look like.

If you have to question it, then it's wrong. I don't approve of the word ******, nor do I use it in ANY form. I suggest you research it and see how damaging and a devastating word it is. Once upon a time, we as blacks were known as "coloreds", "negroes", "*******", "spooks", and the like. Would you like it if someone called you "cracker", "honky", "whitey", or "trailor trash"? Would you embrace that? I think not.

Sorry man. You have to be either black to understand or been around black people all your life, or you just won't get it.
The only person I want to call me a ***** is Malcolm X, and he's dead so that leaves no one.
