I am from a Baptist background, but I will try other places, as long as the Bible is taught as the authority.

I think you should visit the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. My husband was a Baptist all his life and he has never been happier. We also have an ex-Baptist minister in our congregation. For Jehovah's Witnesses, the Bible is always the authority--the whole Bible, and you can use any translation you wish. They never pass a collection plate either.
