I usually store my coffee in the freezer because it is fresher

Coffee should be kept dry and out of the light ; both the refrigerator and the freezer have too much moisture in them. The back of a dark pantry shelf is good. But it does deteriorate, so buy just the small size- two ounces or less- at one time.

The most important part to preserving the flavour is to keep it dry and dark and airtight. Remember that no matter where you store it, if you can smell it when the container or package is closed, its going to go stale.

Instant coffee is "freeze dried" so, just keep it on your shelf....but it's a pretty sorry cup of coffee...for 6 dollars you can buy a cheapo coffee maker and have a real cup of Joe.
