It depends on a few things:
~how much you currently weigh (larger people lose more weight initially)
~how long you've been on a diet (the longer you've been dieting, the more you have to amp up your diet and exersise to keep losing the same amount)
~how rigorous your diet and exersise plan is (these factors can drastically change how much you lose or don't lose)
~how much water you are drinking (if you don't get enough fluids, you can lose water weight, but gain it back once you start good drinking habits)
A good amount in one week is anywhere from 1-4 pounds on a healthy, doctor reccomended diet and exersise plan. It is possible, with a more drastic diet or a strenuous level of exersise, to lose up to 7 or 8 pounds a week- especially if you are very heavy (280lbs+) it is easier to lose a lot of weight very fast when you first start dieting. With supplements, diet drinks, diet pills, and other riskier methods, you can lose 0-12 lbs in a week, but how much those hurt your body (either long or short term) might not be worth it. Note that I wrote 0lbs, because a lot of non FDA approved diet supplements do not work at all.
Good luck!

the first week of a diet, you can lose up to 20 pounds in some cases, depending on how strict you are. After that, its pretty good to lose 2-4 pounds a week. More than that and you might not be getting enough nutrition.
Drink plenty of water, it helps you lose weight. You should drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water. You should add an additional glass of water for each 25 pounds overweight you are. That helps too. Yes you will pee like crazy for the first couple days, but then your body will start using the water better and you won't pee as much.

On the average 1-1.5 lbs a week is healthy. You just need to make sure to keep hydrated and eat a variety of foods and exercise. I've managed to loose around 75 lbs since Dec '05. I'm slowing down to approx 1 lb a week now. Remember, your body and brain need food, so never starve yourself. Keep active...

Maybe about 1 kilo, or 2 kilos, depending on your size and build. Remember, a diet isnt just cutting down on food, its CHANGING the way you eat, and using exercise. Good luck, dont over do it!

I've heard 2 pounds per week but I go for the 5-6 pounds a week. I weigh myself everyday and if I'm one pound over, I don't eat that day.
