How do I get rid of a green tinge caused by shaving my face?

Used to have a moustache, but shaved it off after 30 years. The green tinge is not pleasant. What causes it? What is the perfect way to shave - upwards, downwards or both? i don't want to thicken the growth

uh that sounds kinda nasty but try to wash your face in peroxide, and always shave with the hair not against it
